Thanksgiving 2010

Once again, I forgot to make my reservations for T'giving week way in advance. I called today, and got part of the time I wanted but couldn't get the Friday and Saturday night after Thanksgiving. I'm sure I'll pick up the two nights I need sometime in the next year, but it's crazy how far in advance you have to plan.

yes it is i just booked this thanksgiving yesterday. had no problem getting a premium site.

I guess that doesn't surprise me all that much. I suspect a lot of people reserve for the holidays because it's easier to cancel a reservation than to get one for a busy time. Now that it's getting close, I'm sure some of those people are cancelling for this Thanksgiving. It's goofy that you can get a ressie for this Thanksgiving but not next Thanksgiving. Interestingly, I was able to get a reservation today for 2 weeks around Christmas 2010.

I booked Thanksgiving 2010 today also had to book 2 weeks to get the 4 days.
I also might have to cancel this year's will know better tomorrow. I have Fri off but a cousin of mine decides to have a birthday party on that Sat., I have to be there, have to take my Mom and he is the only cousin I have down here. We were going to go anyway, and drive there Sat, but I realized that we are leaving here Fri, then going to St. Pete, I would pass my house, and go back to Disney to leave Sun. Oh well I guess theres always next year.

I booked the week after Thanksgiving 2010 (Day after to the next friday) this past July. Added from Sunday to Thanksgiving with no problems about a month ago.

I usually book in late Sept. early October with no problem getting the Friday thru Saturday after TG. This year I waited til last week and it took me an hour to trick the computer into a FH. Since we 1st went in 04 it's gotten to be a really popular weekend.

Those of you who are booking extra time - are you saying that if I were to call back and tell them I want the whole week after Thanksgiving too, there might really be availability for that weekend after Thanksgiving?

That's what I'd try. Then you can cancel the days you don't want later.
If they want to play the game, so can we!!!!

I was lucky I guess. I booked a couple weeks ago and got the entire week of Thanksgiving (Monday through Sunday) with no problem. I tried for a couple times before they actually opened up the premium sites. I don't like paying the extra, but if we stay longer than 4 days it's nice to have the extra room. This will be our first Thanksgiving doing want we want and not what everybody else wants and I can't wait.

You guys are the best! When I called and asked to add another whole week to my reservation, the weekend I needed but couldn't get miraculously became available. So now instead of having to call multiple times trying to get the weekend, I just have to call once more to cancel the days I don't need.
