Well, I posted on the Planning board, but I'm on this board more and seems like there may be more traffic here.

Would like your input.

I just changed our dates from early December to Nov 21-28. (DS is on the high school swim team and you can't letter if you miss practices. Practice starts Nov 30).

I'm at BCV in a 2BR lockoff and got all the dates except Nov 25 and 26 (Thanksgiving and the day before).

I'm on the WL for those 2 dates for a 2BR lockoff and for the whole week in a 2BR ded. 2Q (but I'm not holding my breath on that.)

We're within the home resort window; so I can't look at SSR and OKW yet, but will be calling in April when the 7 month window opens to see what's what.

So I'd like to hear from people who have been on the WL for Thanksgiving. Especially if it's been early in your home resort window.

Did your WL come through?
When did it come through?

I'm also interested in hearing from those of you who had a WL not clear when reserving within the home resort priority window. I'd rather know sooner than later if I don't have a prayer in this working out.

Thanks!

I have been going to Disney for 10 years the week of Thanksgiving. I have been on a waiting list many times. Out of 10 years, I have to say 4 times we had to move to another hotel for 2 nites or so due to the waitlist not coming thru.
What I do is put my time on the waitlist for what i want, however, i always book one of the All Star hotels since i know I have a place to stay if the waitlist does not come thru.
Two years ago we made the best of it when our waitlist did not come thru. We were bringing another family with us, so I explained we would be hotel jumping...we stayed the first 2 nites at All Star sport, then 2 nites at Wilderness and then to our home resort of Boardwalk for 7 days. The kids loved the moving experiencing the different hotels and pools. Disney moves your stuff for you so you don't need to worry about moving. Just be patient. On several times, the waitlist did not come thru until Sept.
Once you are in your 7 month window, and don't mind where you stay, put your dates on all the hotels so if anything comes thru for the time you want you can get it. You never know, someone may cancel at the last minute and you may be next on the list. I know this happens, I had to cancel this past Nov. a week before we left due to an unexpected illness in the family. I looked at it, I was able to make someone's disney wish come true by cancelling. I am looking forward to going to disney in a few weeks.
Good luck and be patient....

colieolie--

Thanks for reporting your experiences.

Do you normally make your reservations at the 11 month window? Or a little farther out?

How many years out of those 10 were you on the WL?
