I just put down my deposit for the DVC yesterday and was told I will not get my packet until next week and at that time I can start booking. Is it true that I can begin booking before I actually close on my membership?
Also my hope was to go Thanksgiving week 2008 and stay at my home AKV, what are the chance that I will be able to still book a studio in the next couple of weeks (since I already missed the 11 month mark)? Will I have a good chance to book a studio in the 7 month window at another resort if I don't get AKV?

Hi, Have they given you a member number yet? My advice would be to call member services tomorrow and check. I haven't been in your exact situation before, but when I did an add-on recently, I could book even before the paperwork arrived so it never hurts to check. Good luck!
