I don't know when it happened, but I am over the top about Minnie. I made a red and white polka dot bag with white spaces for signatures. Thanks to the encouragement here, I went to the Character Meet at the front of Epcot. DH and I got there at rope drop and the wait was about 5 minutes. Everyone was so nice and kind to us! No one made us feel silly that we were there without children. DH loved how quickly the whole process moved along. He's not into the characters at all. I, on the other hand, was gushing when I met Minnie!

I'll share some photos later!!

Glad you enjoyed it. :)

I think it is perfectly fine with couples to meet and greet with the characters.
I do not think anyone would find that odd at all.
I see many couples doing this. So many people get married in Disney (and most do not have kids ;)) I do not think it is a big issue and I can see no reason to feel uncomfortable with this.

On the other hand as a solo traveler I will say that I felt very odd though being a guy and waiting on line on my own. I stuck to the Disney Visa meet and greet and the Mickey Toon Town fare since they are somewhat private. I got some very odd looks from some of the staff and other guests, but for the most part the staff was very nice.

Also got some very odd comments from the staff when I was picking up the photos ranging from being hit on by one women to being asked by a smirking clerk if I wanted a fairy border with my photo. (I had picked up 5 free Disney photos over 5 days - thankfully they will just give you the coupon if you did the shoot a previous day, but they are now strict on only printing the photos from the Visa meet and greet.)

While waiting in line I did make up a cover story that I lost a football bet and had to get pictures with characters by myself in each park. So that did make it a little more comfortable so if someone wants to use that feel free.

I just could not work up the nerve to do the big meet and greet in Epcot with all those open windows (if the line was not so long I may have done it. Next time I'll get there for rope drop).

In the end my son really liked the photos and that’s all that really matters.

we done this when we went threre last year & felt a bit weird being the only pair of adults queueing up but we didnt really care in the end & loved doing it :)

My niece is named Jill and lives in Chicago suburbs. Cool handle.

Anyway, I've done both Visa meet and greet and Epcot character greet every visit. Done it alone and with my husband. I don't feel odd at all. No. 1, the Visa offer is to good to miss. A free 5x7? I'm not gonna pass that up. I also do this all the time at Cal Adventure.

And Epcot character greet is IMHO the single best place to meet Disney characters. So simple, so quick, so fun, so cool to have the backdrop and a professional photographer take your pics.

DH didn't want to do it, but I dragged him through. He'd liked the pictures later and I go to say I told you so.

Everyone should go for it. CMs see it all. I'm sure this is not odd at all.

I did a solo trip in August 2009. Loved it. At first I was apprehensive about standing on line for the pictures.:sad2: But by the end of the trip I was loving. Generally when I'm there with the kids, the attention is on them and I have tons of pictures of them and barely any of me. On my solo trip I took so many pictures. The CMs were great. I was constantly being called princess by the CMs.princess: The photopass photographers suggested lots of different shots and poses.:cloud9: I truly felt special.

We went in August for my 40th birthday. We being my mom, dad and my best friend met us down there later in the trip.

Disney is not somewhere we ever went when i was a child, so I couldn't wait to meet all the characters. I didn't even think about people wondering what we were doing. I just went for it and we have some of the best pics of must me, just mom, just dad, just Emily, all of us together.

Who cares what others think!!! Go for it and have a great time. If you need to make up an excuse go for that too!!

It's your time do what you want :-) I know I will be in December like a crazy girl :yay:

I agree with the other posters that you should definitely enjoy your time with the characters and getting pictures as much as anyone else. Be brave and who cares what other people think? I am a little surprised that you've received odd reactions from cast members. I've done the Princess meet and greet and lots of individual character ones by myself, and people have always been really nice. It may be a different experience for a single female than a single man, but I've never felt that out of place. Many times the family behind me will offer to take additional pictures for me on my own camera so I don't have to buy the photopass ones. The character handlers are also usually great and will offer to do that for singles as well. I've never felt rushed or had a character treat me differently for being an adult! Sometimes I think Mickey may be feeling relieved to be able pose with an adult or a couple rather than another screaming sticky kid. :) I have not tried solo character dining alone, but am considering it.

I will have my picture taken with any character available. with the photo pass my grandchildren can access them on line and see what Grandma is up to. Just cause I'm old dosen't mean I have grow up. I'm a kid at heart and don't need to explain that to any one. I love WDW:tinker::donald::dumbo::tigger::mickeyjum
