We had a wonderful seven days at a cabin and had a great time! Thanks for all who gave advice and helped with our planning. We did end up renting a golf cart, and we’re glad we did. It was a chilly week and our cabin wasn’t too close to a bus stop. Plus it was just plain fun buzzing around whenever and wherever we wanted!
We wondered what the high rises going up on the property will mean for any future trips? We’d love to return but would be afraid the crowds would ruin the peaceful tranquility of the resort. Will they share amenities and transportation? When will it open?

Glad you had a great time. We are going in March 28- April 4. I also reserved a golf cart because I hate riding buses. I've been freaking out about the cost of FW and considering POR but i don't want to cheap out on what's probably my last trip to WDW. I needed to hear an encouraging story today .

I was in a cabin last week and the new pool was not completed yet.

Lakeshore Lodge is supposed to open some time in 2027. It will have its own restaurants, pools (including a lazy river), bus stops, and boat dock. How much the guests there will use the FW amenities such as Trails End is a matter of speculation at this point. I haven't seen it in person yet but am truly dismayed by how huge it is and how it hovers over the Settlement.

I have a feeling the water feature (pool) will be limited to Lakeshore Lodge and DVC cabin guests. I don't think it will be for use of all the FW guests. My guess is it will be enforced wristband access, like Stormalong Bay. The quiet pools I don't think they will necessarily be as restricted. These are just my guesses, so I could be very wrong! But I do not think the feature pool will be open to all FW guests. Only time will tell (or a bus driver!).
