.....an update on my daughter....the surgery was Monday and was a success. They removed about 10"-12" of her colon and they are very optimistic that they removed all of the inflamed portion (said the rest of the intestines looked pink and healthy).
She was scheduled for surgery at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, so her sister and I planned to get there that morning to spend some time with her (a two hour trip to hospital). Then we get a call at 8:00am that she is going into surgery right then--she's crying and upset that she won't see us before she goes in.
Thank God her husband was with her...yes, the one that was asking for a divorce six weeks earlier has really been there for her--I think he's finally realized HOW sick she's really been). We get there at 11:30am after driving through Tropical Storm "Bill" to find that she's already in recoverey... but she had to stay there for 24 hours due to the severe pain.
But today she's up walking in the hallways and hopefully (barring any complications) she should be home early next week.
God truly works in mysterious ways and your prayers have meant so much to me and helped me get through this time. I think it's not only helped her through the surgery, but has helped to open her husband's eyes. I think sometimes you have to go through rough times to appreciated the good times, and maybe this had worked in his case.
Again, thank you all so much. Hopefully this will mean a remission of the Crohn's for a while and let her enjoy a better quality of life and enjoy her three children.
Look out, Disney - we'll be there in December to celebrate!
