Thanking our delivery drivers

With so many of us having items delivered and most of the time we don’t see that driver dropping off our packages to thank them I decided to create a sign thanking them. I live in an apartment complex so even if I am not getting a package they may see my sign while delivering to another apartment.

Here is the sign I made. I added the logos of the companies that typically deliver in my area. Your welcome to use it or even create your own so our delivery drivers know we appreciate what they are doing for us.

UPS just delivered our exam glove order from Costco. I thanked him profusely, and I could tell he really appreciated it.

I know a delivery driver. He's been working 10 hour days. Right now they are working 5 days a week, but could easily go to 6, like they do around Christmas.

Don't forget the people who load those trucks to make those deliveries possible. :-) They are also working in less than desirable conditions (social distancing simply isn't possible in all cases. :-)

If/when shipments get to the Chritmas level, delivery companies will hire helpers.

I had a amazon driver last night who didn’t know what he was doing. Don’t they train the new guys? He knocked on my door saying he had my package but couldn’t get it to scan. Ok what you want me to do scan it for you. He went to his car yes a car not a van. He was in there for 10 minutes. He comes back and gives me the package. 5 minutes later he knocks on door and said could he see the label it didn’t scan like he thought it did. I had the package open. I just have him the empty package and told him he could keep it if he wanted. He kept it. I felt sorry for him. I know amazon is hurting for people they are busy but give them people some training.

Cute sign!

I rarely see my delivery drivers. They leave their packages at the lobby desk where the doorman logs them in electronically and sends out an email to inform residents to come get it. I add the regular drivers to the list of service people who are tipped in December.

60 hours a week isn't that much? On what planet? That's a LOT of work hours.

said they are working 10 hours a day 5 days a week that’s 50. Said they could go to 6 days a week. 60 is not that much I worked that much for over 10 years. Wish I was still working that much. Not my choice just slower time from what we make.

Thank you, I'm using it. Very nice, very important.

I love my USPS driver! Wish I had a printer for the sign but I might just chalk a message in our driveway if I can find that chalk from last summer.

How much do you folks tip grocery delivery?

I tipped $20 on a $90 order yesterday. Going to the store is too stressful right now. The default on the app was only 5%.

I waved from the window but had read we shouldn’t open the door while they are dropping stuff off. Makes sense.

I have a THANK YOU note at our door for all the deliveries. Totally appreciate their efforts to help us all out.
