I just wanted to share an idea that I got from a weekend retreat. I'm not sure who started the idea or where exactly it came from. I'm just sharing, not taking credit for this awesome idea.

Make a "thankful album" and designate Thursday as "Thankful Thursday". Make a layout each Thursday of one thing you are thankful for--it can be as simple as your morning coffee/tea or something much more complex. Take a picture of what you are thankful for and create a layout making sure to journal why you are thankful for your item.

I started my album today and am using a picture of my girls that I took at Sarah's "choir senior showcase" on Tuesday. I'm already planning on future layouts using pictures of my glasses, my camera, my laptop, my husband, etc. I'm sure the ideas will get easier once I get started :)

I just want to take the time to remember that I have A LOT to be thankful for and if I document it I'll be able to look back at all the blessings I truly have in my life :thumbsup2

One more thing--I'm very thankful for all of my "friends in a box" :goodvibes

Cheryl - will you post the LO every Thursday to remind the rest of us to be Thankful for something.

I"m thankful that today is the last day of work (besides a saftey meeting tomorrow then lunch on them) not sure how to scrap that ;)

what a great idea!

you know how thankful I am for all of you.....and that my girl is healthy and as happy as we can be each and every day :goodvibes

What an awesome idea!

I know I take for granted many of the blessings in my life.

Thanks for sharing!

Great lo!

I am thankful that its Thursday! And of course for my friends in the box cause it makes me feel sane to have adult conversation!

:)

LOVE that LO!!!!

I'm very thankful for my friends in a box that keep me grounded and on track.. now who wants to drive over and help me finish up this senior pages????

Cheryl- I love this idea and the layout! I am so glad you are getting to have so many great moments and enjoy Sarah's senior year. Its such an important time! Enjoy every second and keep us up to date! I love hearing about her accomplishments!

I definitely want to pick this habit up! I think I will try to start next Thursday!

Cheryl, your layout brought tears to my eyes, it's beautiful. I've got 4 sisters and I really need to remember to be thankful for them. Thank you for the reminder.

Hmmm...tell me what it's like?? I don't have a sister and always wanted one! LOL My SIL also has brothers...so we say that we were destined to be together...she's my sister now! But, a REAL one...always wanted that!

If this really catches on, maybe it should be a sticky? Or at least like the weekly/monthly challenges that there is a new post so we don't have to search through! I love the idea! It is just getting my butt in gear and doing it each week!!

I'm the youngest of 7 and there are 10 years between me and the next girl, so when I was younger it was like I had 5 mothers. As I've gotten older, they respect me (hahahahaha) a little more, but I'll always be their baby sister. I think the best thing about it is if I ever need anything, SOMEONE will be there for me. I'm closer to some than others, but if they needed me, I'd be there too.

I never wanted an only child (but you know what they say about planning), mostly because I worry if something happened to me and DH, Morgan wouldn't have anyone...but with 4 older sisters, I know she'll be fine.

I also have 2 brothers, but we're just not as close.

I'm so glad you like the idea of Thankful Thursday :)

I had to start with my girls while that memory was still fresh, and yes I cried while I was laying down the pics ;) I always wanted a sister and I'm so thrilled that my girls are so close. Thanks for all the scrap love!

Jennifer - wowza!! What a big family! That's awesome! I'm sure Morgan would be well taken care if the need would arise...but that won't happen because you have too much to do with her!! :thumbsup2

Cheryl - this is so unique...a new thing to scrap and makes you step back and reflect and wake up and smell the coffee all at the same time! We need that kick in the teeth sometimes!

Cheryl, I love the idea and the layout! I want to do this, but I may have to be "thankful" on Tuesday or Friday. My Thursdays are really full with work, dance, and softball/baseball games right now.

I have one sister who is 2 yrs younger than I am. We have always been close. My bil is interviewing for a coaching job today for a school that is over 3 hrs from here. I'll be crying buckets if they move.

My mom has 8 siblings -- 5 sisters, and they are all the best of friends. Every year they have a "slumber party" where they all get together for the weekend. The way they giggle and pull pranks you'd think they were teenagers instead of retirees. :lmao:

Sheila--you can be "thankful" on whatever day of the week you choose ;)

I love the story about your mom's family! There are 11 siblings in my mom's family and I don't know any of them :( They are just not very close--she was 10 years younger than any of her siblings. It's funny we know all the relatives on DH's side and none of them on my side.
