Thank you

As said by Chatty above, the WM's, mostly Alex over the years, have repeatedly stated that they do not, can not (without MUCH time and difficulty) read, and therefore do not monitor PM's. PM's are that, private, so it has been said.

I don't think anyone expects (wants? ) the mods or WMs to read PMs. What was said was that the person was harassed in a PM and it was reported with no response. Even if there is nothing in the guidelines that forbids harassing PMs, I see nothing wrong with taking a moment to respond and clarify that.

It appears to me that many of these issues arise from the lack of clear explanation or just the out and out silence on an issue. Saying "read the guidelines" isn't always the answer because that sometimes can be interpreted as being inconsistent (when people don't know all the behind the scene facts). Where I have seen an explanation given, whether people agree or not, at least they feel they are being heard. However I have also seen where explanations are given and then the poster doesn't like the message being delivered so I can understand how a mod or WM loses patience.

Try and have some fun folks. There are many more things in life to be so serious about. :)

I miss absolutely everything! Anyone PM me the story? Please?

I don't understand the inconsitencey of the rules -
how others can be downight MEAN and RUDE and its ok - there posts stay
then others accidentally break a rule and the post is gone and they are GONE!

That's how I read her post as well. What's the point of having a "report message" if nothing happens?

I agree, Lou. I agree that over the years, consistency and clarity, the lack of or small amount of both, have often been a topic of discussion here. I also have seen a reduction, even from the previous low levels, of explanations of why things are done (not that one is required, but it is nice courtesy, and sometimes does help prevent further problems). Most often I just see a thread closed, gone, or hear along the way of somebody getting the boot (and certainly many who have been well deserved it, oftentimes long before they were). Communication does go a long way.
