I want to say thank you for the advice for my trip to DL and California. I just got back 2 hours ago and felt compelled to send this out. I went to the DL park (not CA) and loved it all. I have been to WDW over 20 times and know it like the back of my hand. I knew that DL was going to be different but I guess I thought the rides with the same names would be identical but I was wrong. Here is my opinion on the rides.

Rides that are better at DL:
1) Space Mountain - it's like a cross of SM and RNRC. Enjoyed it so much, I rode it 3 times.
2) Buzz Lightyear - the biggest part that makes it better is that you can take the blaster out of the holster.
3) Pooh's Honey pot - I just like the design better.
4) Autopia- The fact that this one somewhat has a story with it helps. It seems like you go through a graveyard and the different terrain. I really enjoyed that.
5) POC - It was longer, had an additional drop, and I really enjoyed the way it started off. Great ride!

Rides that are better at WDW:
1) The Monorail - I was rather disappointed when I saw that it was so low to the ground at DL that I could touch the bottom of it standing flat footed.
2) The Castle - OK I know that is not a ride but it is a part of the park. Sleeping Beauty's Castle is so small, I was shocked. I know the park is older and doesn't have near the same amount of room that WDW has but that really surprised me.

Otherwise, I thought the park was awesome. I even did the stuff that I have done a thousand times at WDW but just had to see if there was differences.

I am glad you had a good time! I haven't been on Autopia in YEARS (the last time I think I went was in 96- it might have been further back than that.) Now, I am wondering what they did there, because I don't remember a graveyard or storyline!

I've never been to WDW (I know- AMAZING), so one day I hope to be in your shoes in reverse.
