Many of you on this board have been aware that I have been searching for my Birthfamily for many years, like about oh 21 years. I finally found my BirthMom back in Sept but was not able to contact her by phone, mail, etc. Finally I found an address that worked, and I recieved the most wonderful email tonite from my BirthMom...now begins a process of healing and learning about one another! I know this is off topic, but many people here on this board helped me thru this difficult time and lent support.

Congratulations!!! Being the father of an adopted child, I know how much this means to you.

Congrats! I found my birth family many years ago and still have contact with them. I even have a sister now that lives fairly close that I see a lot!

Congratulations! I hope this is a bright new beginning for you.

Aimee,

I just read you post and felt I should say Congratulations! I hope all works out the best for you and your birth mom. Like others have said "keep an open mind" I would love to hear how things work out. Keep us posted.

Aimee,

What great news!!! God Bless each of you!! Enjoy your new found family and take time to make beautiful memories together!! I am so happy for you. God DOES answer prayers!!!!

Aimee, that is great news. Now just take one step at a time. It has to be a good feeling to have an extended family, while at the same time I am sure you are filled with many different emotions.

Best of luck to you.

Hey Aimee,
Best wishes to you and your family for a meaningful healing process. I am adopted, as are my brothers and sister (all separate adoptions as infants) and my brother went through the same search a few years ago. It wasn't quite as smooth as expected, but I know (and he agrees) that is was completely worthwhile and it has really made a difference in his life. Interestingly, he found he was 100% Native American, which has led him in a new and exciting direction, including applying to universities to get his PhD in Native American Studies, and a whole new network of friends in the US and Canada. I'll be thinking of you!
