My father passed away this afternoon at 2:05pm.
He had been terminally ill with cancer for the last 3 years.
He went downhill when I was in California on our ABD trip, however he seemed to be improving over the last couple of weeks. As much as anyone can improve who is terminal. I got a message on Sunday that he had taken another turn for the worse and was not expected to last more than a week or two.
I then recieved a phone call on Monday morning saying they did not expect him to make it through the day. So DH drove me the 2 hours to see my father for the last time. It was a bittersweet good-bye!
Then the 2 hour drive home. The waiting was horrible but now that has come to an end.
He is a peace and in no more pain!
I want to start this thread to say thank you to all my wonderful friends for their hugs and support! You are truely a wonderful group of people. The world would be a lot less bright without you, and I am so glad I have this amazing group of friends!!
