I just wanted to thank Matthew and Lauri for the meet in Richmond yesterday. It was small and fun! We had lunch and traded a couple of pins.

I was so proud of my DD Tara. She brought her little pin book (which is out of traders really, they are pins she has traded for as keepers) Well, lo and behold one of the other DIS members had her daughter with her. She had a pin my first pin trading lanyard with some pins on it. She liked a couple of Tara's pins so Tara asked if it would be okay if she traded the little girl. I said it would be fine. Turns out that Tara already had the pins that the little girl had to trade, but she traded her anyway. She told me later that it meant more for that little girl to get those pins she liked than for Tara to keep the ones she had. She said that even though she already had those pins, she could just trade them at a later time. She has learned pin trading well--as well as the art of giving to another child. She made me SO proud!!

Hi Sue Ellen--

I have two pin-trading daughters and have seen them do the very same thing as your DD on a number of occasions! Isn't it wonderful??:) My older DD Jordan, especially enjoys those kinds of trades with kids who are new to trading. She's 14 and really enjoys the looks on the new traders faces when she trades with them, especially when the new traders are very young! We're in the parks fairly often, so both of my girls get those opportunites regularly and really enjoy them. Mom-to-Mom, it makes me really proud, too!

BTW, the meet sounds like it was fun.......of course, anywhere Matthew and Lauri are gathered is sure to be a good time! :D Sorry we missed it!

and you and dad too of course. Our Jordan is one of the "big sisters" at the Friday night pin meets. She has helped lots of people that I have never taken the time to tell Christy. People always come to me at the end of a night (or trip) and tell me who all helped them that night and made their trading magical. If I had the power to award a CCT One of them would go to Jordan.

Thank you, Matthew and Lauri. Suellen, I didn't realize that your daughter had done that. Thank you so much. Both my husband and I are SO impressed with your daughter and hope that our daughter grows to be that unselfish.
Edited to add:
The little girl that Suellen is talking about is my soon-to-be 5 year old, Jessica.
