I just wanted to thank Matthew and Lauri for the meet in Richmond yesterday. It was small and fun! We had lunch and traded a couple of pins.
I was so proud of my DD Tara. She brought her little pin book (which is out of traders really, they are pins she has traded for as keepers) Well, lo and behold one of the other DIS members had her daughter with her. She had a pin my first pin trading lanyard with some pins on it. She liked a couple of Tara's pins so Tara asked if it would be okay if she traded the little girl. I said it would be fine. Turns out that Tara already had the pins that the little girl had to trade, but she traded her anyway. She told me later that it meant more for that little girl to get those pins she liked than for Tara to keep the ones she had. She said that even though she already had those pins, she could just trade them at a later time. She has learned pin trading well--as well as the art of giving to another child. She made me SO proud!!
