I have been reading this forum for a long time, but this is my first time posting. I just wanted to say thank you for the tips and trip planning advice everyone has given on these forums. One of the tips saved my vacation. (Sorry if its too long)
I had spent a lot of time planning our trip. I wanted it to be special. It had been 10 long years since our last trip to Disney and we were going to be there during my husband and my birthdays. I had everything planned and ready the night before we left. We woke up early on the morning of our flight. We had to drive an hour to get to the airport.
We had been driving an hour and just as we arrived to the city, all of a sudden for no reason it came to me in a flash. I saw in my mind our Disney tickets at home still in the safe place where I had put them when we received them a month ago. I had forgotten our tickets!!! I blurted it out to my husband. My heart sank, there was no time to go back home and still make our flight. My husband was pretty much in disbelief because it wasnt like me to forget something that important.
Then, I remembered something. After I had received the tickets in the mail I did something that I had read about on the DIS forums. I looked in my planning notebook and there was the photocopy of our tickets that I had made in case they were lost. I never thought I would need it when I was making the copy. I knew then that our vacation was saved.
After we checked into our resort we went to Hollywood Studios Guest Services. I told the CM in the window what had happened and showed her the photo copy. She said No problem, and printed up new tickets for us. She even commented that she had never seen anyone photocopy their tickets like that and what a great idea it was. I want to thank everyone on the DIS, you truly saved our vacation!!!
