Thank You for the Bob Show

He is so missed. I loved him so much and never even meet him! I loved his videos! He was a great man.

Thanks for the show!

Nothing like a 35 yr old man tearing up and the kids asking , "whats wrong dad?"

Love all you guys at the podcast!

Kevin going to Ohana Oct 29th care to join me! LOL

Once again wishing there was a LIKE button. :)

Loved the memorial show. I only started listening last year. Listened to some of the shows bob was on. They are so funny can see where he's missed :mic:

My point in starting this thread, now that all have had the opportunity to listen to the show, was to show my appreciation for the Bob memorial shows. I may never really understand why Bob's death affected me but then I may never understand why Bob affected me either.

I also wanted the podcast team to know that no matter what some may say about getting over the loss of Bob, there is a much bigger contingent of folks who really appreciate the memories.

Happy Star Wars Weekend, Bob.

Here's the thread for Bawb for President:

Help me understand whose in the podcast crew :)
Funny post:
Actually, what pod cast are YOU guys listening to?
This is how it is....
There is this main guy, who talks with a weird accent, named Bawb.
His job is to ride around on a cart with a camera on it. He picks fights with Storm Troopers and eats a lot of dolewhip. Then there are a bunch of other people there who are really jealous of him.... Some of them eat out all the time and shop and give away stuff, but their real job is to make fun of this poor cart guy.
We listen to find out if he has finally snapped and run them all down yet.
Don't forget he's also running for President this year.

I really enjoyed Bob's 5th year memorial show. It was made special by Dianer's being there with the team. I have followed the DIS and podcast almost since Day 1 and my DW and I were lucky to meet Bob and Diana along with the rest of the podcast team at their first "meet" at the Dolphin in December 2007. I remember Bob showing off his beloved "kaht" and telling me the best place to get fried clams near WDW. I wish that I had taken more pictures, but in those days, some of the team did not want to be photographed, especially John. ;) BTW, the podcast team has come a long way in that regard, even doing live video and podcasts. Bob would be very proud. :thumbsup2

Mary and I really enjoyed those early podcasts with Bob and laughed so hard at his mispronunciations and expressions sometimes that we nearly cried. Being from Boston, we could appreciate his "accent". I have to admit that we thought the rest of the team, except Julie, picked on Bob sometimes, but eventually realized how much you all loved him and it was a part of the podcast that made it special.

We were shocked when we heard the news of Bob's passing since it was so sudden and unexpected. Despite having only listened to him on podcasts and met him only once, I felt like I lost a friend. Although I still listen to and now watch the podcasts, they have not been the same without Bob. It was great to learn during the recent podcast that the person responsible for the "Bob for President" campaign is now a producer for the podcast. Bob had to have had a hand in that. :littleangel:

Thank you for the Bob's memorial podcast and for keeping his memory alive. Keep up the great work podcast team! We are looking forward to seeing you all in Massachusetts in June.

My father lives on in spirit through this show. I know he is looking down smiling on the studio every time those mics turn on and the cameras start rolling! This show really got too me i found myself watching it bawling my eyes out.. I really miss my dad. He was an amazing father, husband and friend to many people and I will always remember how happy he was living out his fantasy dream job in real life and I am thankful for all the years I did have with him.. Thanks for all your love and support through the years since he left! My family will never forget how much this site meant to him and how much he meant to all of you.

You are so right! Your dad does live on through this show (and elsewhere). I lost my dad when I was young (16) so I have a little understanding of what this means to you. I think DH and I met you at what became your dad's 'memorial' at Gaylord Palms, and we were pleased to visit with you and others.

Your dad was a special person, as each of you (family) are.

Every so often I go back and listen to the 'old' podcasts because I love listening to your dad (Bawb).

Thanks for your support back then at his memorial! I wish i could remember everyone that I met that day because it really meant a lot to me.. I would need to see a face to put with the names mostly because I was a wreck for awhile after he passed away and I may have been physically at Gaylord that day.. mentally I was somewhere else... After he died when I used to think about disney or the DIS it made me sad.. All that has changed recently actually while watching how strong my mom was on the live show memorial for my father. As I watched everyone sharing stories, some that I was actually there for and some that were new to even me.. I was in between crying and laughing the whole time and in the middle of it, i realized how close it made me feel to him and now I cant stop listening to all the old shows. Its comforting to hear his voice again...

When this particular show came on, I wasn't expecting to listen for more than a minute or two as I am a very new listener and thought it was meant for long-term fans of the show. I ended up listening to the whole thing, and thoroughly enjoyed hearing you reminisce about someone who was obviously such a keystone in not only the podcast, but in your lives.

I completely understand. No need for you to remember us, we were just glad to be there and visit and remininence (sp) with you and others. I'm happy for you that you have reached the stage that you want to hear and are comfortable hearing the stories. I know it took me years to reach that stage after my dad's death, it's just part of the grieving process.

I truly hope you start being a part of these boards again.

A tribute to 'Bawb' at Bwana Bawb's. :goodvibes

I am so happy for you that you've reached a point in your life that you feel you can think about Disney again. Welcome, I look forward to 'seeing' you around here.

Just wanted to say thank you for Bob's 5th anniversary show. It was amazing and so nice to see Diana (er). It was unbelievable to hear that Dustin was the one to create that bumper sticker! It's definitely a sign from Bob for sure!!
Thanks, Laurie :)

I, too, only got to know Bob through listening to the Podcasts after his passing. I appreciate that you all still take the time each year to do a special show in his honor. His influence on the Podcast was clearly important, and I believe the Bob memorial shows are a classy way to honor his memory. These shows also help me to remember that you never know how much longer you have with those you love, and to appreciate every moment with the special people in your life.

Thank you for all that you do to keep your friend's memory alive with so many people.
