I just wanted to thank the Fairy Godmailer who sent my son a Stitch postcard from WDW!!! Josh is 9 and LOVES to get mail--but rarely gets any. Today we came home from a LONG day and Josh got the mail!! He was SO excited to see that there was something for him AND that it was a Stitch postcard!! He read it out loud to me and then said "thanks mom for sending this". I told him I didn't send it and showed him the Orlando post mark on it. He was AMAZED and couldn't figure out who would have sent the post card! I told him it was his "Fairy Godmailer"!!!! He taped it up on his door, right next to his count down calendar!

Thank you SO much for making his day!! :wizard:

BUMP (In case our Fairy Godmailer(s) didn't get a chance to see this thread!)

I wanted to say a great big thanks also. Our family received a postcard with Mickey and Minnie in front of the castle. My DD was having a bad day because her betta fish died so this was a bright spot. She also wanted to know who sent it. I told her I didn't know anyone in Disney right now so it must be a little magical for us to receive this postcard. I also asked that they send one to my friend's family who has been to WDW once and are hoping to get back next Feb. Her kids were very excited to receive this "mysterious and magical" postcard. Thanks again Fairy Godmailer. I can't wait to go so I can return the favor!

Wow thats such a great idea. Can anyone tell me how this fairy godmailer works? I have three boys who would love to receive and post card and I in return would love to make somebodys childs days by sending one.
Any details would be much appreciated.
thanks :earsgirl:

Our kids also recieved their card from Mickey :) Thanks so much, they thought it was the greatest thing ever. I am planning on taking some names when we go in June.

If you watch the Theme Park Board, every once in awhile, someone will post that they are willing to be a "Fairy Godmailer" while they are at WDW. After they post, people interested in having a post card sent to their child PMs the original poster and that person then sends the card from WDW when they are there. The child has no idea who it came from and it gives everyone an opportunity to spread a little magic! I think it's a wonderful idea and I can't wait to BE the Fairy Godmailer!! Keep watching--I'm sure someone will post again soon (it might even be me!!) I plan on posting about 2 weeks before I leave and mailing out several while I'm down there!!

There are two posts going right now. On this forum there is paying it forward and on the Disney for Families forum there is a sticky at the top called fairy godmailer????soon??. You can post on the forum that you would like someone to mail postcards with character signatures to you or someone, like myself, post that they are willing to send them. Then a little swapping of PM's or emails and you have a little magic. :wizard: Check out my posts on both for info that is required. The average number of postcards people mail is 5. I already have my 10 but I'm sure there is someone out there that can help you spread the magic.
I hope this helps you get started.

Thank you very much for the information. I will def look up the posts and respond to both of them. I am going July 1-17. It would be wonderful if I could enlist someone to send a post card to my boys. I am most interested in joining myself to send postcards. My boys have been to disney 8x's in 11 years so if they dont receive a post card it wont be the end of the world but I would just loooooooooooove to be able to send some post cards when I'm in disney. It would feel so great to spread some disney magic to kids who are still counting down their vacation.

This is such a great idea :cheer2:

Emily got her card this week too and it could not have come at a better time. She was thrilled and I posted all about her response on the CB. I think this was a wonderful idea and whoever started it had a great thought. We're going in June and I'll be getting a list together shortly as I want to "pay it forward". Thanks again.

I am posting on this thread, so I don't loose it!!
I took my son, then 5, now 23, to DL for his very
first time. I have a picture of him on our family pic
wall of him with Mickey ::MickeyMo in front of the
Mad Hatter Hat Store, he is grinning ear to ear! It
is my favorite picture of him at that age! That being
said, I would love to be a Fairy Godmailer when we
go May 10/17. I don't know how to sign up, so if
someone sees this and know, let me know, or let the
ones who arrange this know! Thanks!!! :wizard: princess: :flower2:
