I just rented points this trip for our visit last week and we stayed at BWV - it was amazing! Thank you to Becky for renting us points - you were amazing - and if it wasn't for the comments here, I wouldn't have gotten up the nerve to do it. We loved our studio room - 2059 and would recommend it to anyone - only 5-6 rooms away from teh lobby with a partial view of the boardwalk - WONDERFUL!

One thing we didn't like though was the transportation issue - i.e. - 5 resorts essentially for each bus. How do you put up with it? It amazes me that at my value resort stays the transportation issue was ten times better. It seems that WDW would want to be nice to its timeshare owners to give them better transportation service. Has anything ever been done through DVC to try to get WDW to change its awful policy?

yes - there have been complaints since BC/YC shared with D/S.

Disney seems to think that if you want good service to the MK or AK or DD then you should drive or get a taxis.

they have more complaints about the transportation here than anywhere.

I have learned to stay at BWV or BCV when I only wanted Epcot or Studios.

when I wanted MK stay at VWL (this also has excellent transportation to Epcot - bus or bus/monrail)

for AK or DD then either SSR or OKW - which ever I can get.

It's funny, but we stayed at Disney as a family (my husband and I) at the Boardwalk due to the great military discount they were offering a few years back. The last time I had been at Disney was a looooooong while before that, and it was at the All-Stars.

I loved so many things about the Boardwalk. :goodvibes But, the one thing that suprised the heck out of me was the transportation. In my memory, all I could think was "Man, the bus system worked a heck of a lot better at the All-Stars" but I figured it had been so long that my memory was probably not reliable.

So, you made me feel like I am not actually losing my marbles. :rotfl:

Honestly, it's a lesson learned. This time we had our car at SSR and found that we didn't really "need" it because bus service was much better there, but we did appreciate having it. :goodvibes
:-)

While the bus does get crowded and riding in the bus might take longer, I found the frequency of buses to be greater at BW. Thus less wait if you miss a bus, but longer on the bus. Overall it took less than 30 minutes every time to MK(wait and ride). That is faster than a car(where you drive, park, then tram, then boat/monorail).

I believe we were first getting on at BW, last coming back. One option is to get off at the Swan/Dolphin, walk across bridge, and your home 5 minutes faster.
