Well I have returned after a magnificent 2 weeks and my daughter believes I am the best daddy in the world (i'll enjoy that one while I can) My Disney sceptic wife has been won over so all is well with the world and she even concedes that the hours I spent trawling through this site were certainly worth it.
On behalf of my family and myself please accept my gratitude for the very useful help given in answer to the queries I raised and also benefited from by reading other peoples concerns being answered.
So many people genuinely interested in others deriving maximum pleasure from their holidays is very rare indeed and greatly appreciated. If I can make similar contributions based on my experiences over the next few months I will try to do so.
In an attempt to stop the memories from fading too quickly I may even cobble together some form of trip report.
Off the cuff here are a few thoughts.
Flying with Virgin. No complaints but then again not too memorable. Flying to me is just the precurser to the main event and something to be concluded as quickly and hassle free as possible. I flew economy am 6'1'' and was fairly comfortable. Cant see the point in going Premium Economy (I have flown first class before). Money can be put to better use when you get there.
Amerihost Resort. Hmmmm. Not too impressed at all but then again we used it just for crashing out in. For that purpose it served its purpose if a bit too Spartan.
Princess Story Book Breakfast at EPCOT. Lousy food but the $50+ was worth every cent to see my daughters face when she met (Belle, Muhlan, Aurora, Snow White, Jasmine and Mary Poppins)
Dinner at Chef Mickeys. The $65 was great value in comparison with the Princess Brekkie. Good food, great atmosphere, great interaction with Mickey and Co. Beware the $26 sting for the family photo prior to taking your seat.
Breakfast Buffets. We all agreed that Sizzler was the best. Great value and good food
Shows in Parks. Cinderellas Surprise at MK was fantastic, Tarzan Rocks at AK did just that! Lion King good but I was a little disappointed. Beauty and the Beast at MGM made my daughter cry with joy. Fantasmic at MGM absolutely awesome and well worth the 90 minute wait recommended in Simons book.
All for now, thanks again.
