TGM for Oct.?

Should I do TGM for our October trip or is it only really useful for really busy times? We've never done it before. Does it matter that we're still 2 months away or should we just go ahead and do it now? TIA

It really depends what your current level of knowledge is. In my experience, I didn't find a lot of info on that site that I haven't already gotten from other sources but, if you haven't done much research, it would give you a centralized resource for the info. However, the site layout is pretty convoluted so a significant time investment is required to explore it all. Also, you lose the advantage of being able to carry it with you on your trip like you can a good guidebook, which you could obtain for a similar price.

The touring plans all pretty much cater to "commando" touring so, if you need to see/do it all while there, you might find them useful. I didn't find much that catered to any kind of personalized or alternate park touring so that was a bust for me too.

Lot's of people seem to really like the site but, as a repeat and knowledgable visitor WDW, I didn't find much that was new or helpful to me and I was bothered by the fact that the site doesn't update some key event info until far later than other free sites.

TGM was absolutely incredible for our busy April Spring Break 2005 trip. That was also our first family trip and DH and my first trip in 12 years- we NEEDED the guidance. I renewed my subscription for our January, 2006 trip. This time the crowds were so low we really didn't need the touring plans. However, the "best days" guide and just the general touring tips were still very beneficial.

If trip planning is half the fun for you, you won't regret subscribing to TGM. We hope to go back to WDW in February and I will subscribe to TGM again JUST for the best days and all the fun planning tools. I have the touring plans memorized I love TGM!!!!

We used TGM during a slow week. His plans helped us all we wanted to do pretty quickly, which freed up the rest of the day to get some r&r at our resort.
