Ok - so I'm an Uber-planner. I've already spent more on guide books than on our DDP (free!) but I fear I may be missing something!?!?!?! The thing is we are definitely going to take advantage of EMH's and I know he's going to tell me to avoid them! We already have ADR's set for the entire stay, so we basically know where we will be and when. I'm just trying to decide how to arrange rides, parades and show so we can see as much as possible. I know he goes into traffic flow and stuff, but I'm more interested in fitting in entertainment stuff. Most guide books don't include any of the performers around WS at all and I never even knew there was a trolley parade down main street in the MK in the mornings - now I'm trying to decide whether to miss that and run to rides for EMH or see the trolley singers and dancers - I LOVE performances of any kind, but the kiddies will want to hit Buzz and Peter Pan before lines get too long. Will he be able to help with this??? I've heard that his sight didn't always used to be up to date with EMH days and stuff - has that gotten better? Please help me decide, not just because you love/hate TGM, but based on the info I've given. I have 1 1/2 to slog through lots of info (I can do it!), but if the info isn't going to help since my park days are set in stone, then I'd rather not waste my time and money. We are going back next year for just a day or 2 and will for sure use him then to help me pick my days, but was just wondering if he can help this year! TIA!

He's definitely worth trying out. He has a lot of tips for handling crowds/lines/whatever you might encounter at EMH. Click on the header to get the $3 off and give him a try! If it's not for you, he'll give you a refund. Check out his forums, too they're chock-full of nice people and information.

Have a great trip!

I subscribed to TGM for my upcoming trip which is in 6 days and I've learned SO MANY tips/suggestions, etc. I would go ahead and do it. If you don't like it, he gives you a full refund, no questions asked! :)

I have gone to Disney only once without TGM. I just signed up again because I plan to go again next September, i find each trip is different and has a different focus. BTW- he doesn't always say to avoid the EMH- not sure where you got that from. He WILL tell you how to put the EMH to your best advantage!

If you don't have time to really READ - and you do need to READ a LOT on his site, to really get a grip on his theories, but if you are short on time, go directly to the forums on his site (thru paid access only) and ask for help, either Mike himself, or another experienced TGM person can give you advice (Im not at liberty to give you more information here, but could help you over on the TGM space where we can talk about his secrets)

If your in the mood to use a referral Im NicoleK from CT

BEST WISHES for a MAGICAL trip!!

TGM also gives great descriptions and hints concerning some of the "better"
entertainment options and shows like at the World Showcase.

You would also benefit from Steve Soare's entertainment website if you haven't already checked it out. I believe it's:

Have a blast!!

Given that you are a real planner and have already done a lot of research you, like me, are not likely to find much new on the TGM site. The touring plans might yield some new info for you, but they aren't particularly personalizable so it would be up to you whether it would be worth the membership fee for those. He does have a money back guarantee so if you find they aren't useful, you can get a refund.

You need plenty of time to make use of the site. It is not very intuitive to use, and you will need plenty of time to look around for the information. I signed up for it, but only had a few days before my trip, and I did not find it useful at all. Maybe there was information in there that could help, but in the time I had, it was not worth the money. This site and the other planning books I had read helped me enough.

I second much (but not all) of what brentalex has to say. It's a site that rewards meandering and noodling around. Not at all like some of the "go here first, go there second" guidebooks. The goal of TGM is to provide its members with the tools to design their own touring plans. I found the site to be frustrating at first, but I think that's because I was used to the other planning books. I liked the information that TGM gave me, and felt like I was more in charge of my trip. But I'm kind of an info junkie by nature, and can completely understand if someone else is more comfortable with a more structured approach.

What a perfect description! I never thought of it that way, but I'm totally an "info junkie" too.

As for myself, I understand why people will be overwhelmed, but I have spent vast amounts of time perusing TGM and have extracted what I think are some very important tips regarding my vacation.
