Text Message on Cell Phone

I got a text message on my cell from someone I didn't know asking if I'd like to sell or rent my timeshare. It didn't mention DVC specifically so I guess it was someone phishing. I'd never had a text message like that and wondered if any other DVCers have had that happen. Pretty aggravating to have to pay for a text that is spam!

I haven't and I use my Cell for all my contact points as I'm never really home.

Yea that does stink about the spaming of cell phones.I even had all of ours put on the national do not call list.

We use Sprint, so I called them for their spam department, and they are investigating...


and said they'd also update their firewall to prevent future text messages.

About 2 weeks ago I got 2 of those timeshare text messages on my Nextel within 5 minutes of each other. Sounds like my messages were identical to yours. Haven't received any more since then though thankgoodness.
