Texas Ice Storm

Looks like I'll be back to work tomorrow...TX State announced that they're opening again in the afternoon. I hope my students can make it.

Count me as another one that's over it. This cold weather is really getting old. I don't mind a day or two of it, this has been going on since Sat? ugh. Not to mention that it's really hurting my business.

Doesn't look like we are out of the <insert booming voice here> Winter Blast 2007. We are now under a winter storm watch for Friday and Saturday. :sad2:

I'm cold and miserable. I'm very much like DVC Jen....once I'm cold, I'm cold...no amt of layering up warms me.

I'd rather it be 95.

The kids had off yesterday and today. This after a trheew day weekend. So today i invited a few of their friends over to play.
Then we get the grand idea to go to the Cracker Barrel for dinner. I had already metally ordered porkchops and hashbrown casserole. The only place open was the Shoneys. The kiddoes go back two hours late tomorrow and dh goes back late too. I'm excited about getting back to normal. This has been fun, but I'm glad it's over. The bad part is, this break has cost my kids the day off of battle of the flowers and pres. day.

I was really surprised this morning. I was still asleep and the phone rang at 7:30 and I let the answering machine pick it up and heard the recording from DS's school announce "No School" due to inclement weather. Instead of letting DS sleep I went into his room and woke him up to tell him and he was really happy and then went right back to sleep. I looked out the window, got back into bed and did the same. :rotfl:

He's really hoping for the same tomorrow! :cool1:

I predict the now lost bad weather days will have plenty of no shows(of those with made plans)

I would love for it to snow here so that I could have a few days off work....but seriously....I know how difficult ice storms are. We had one here in Chattanooga about 10-12 years ago. It was absolutely terrible. I loved that I had no school. But hated that we had no running water, heat, or electricity. We had food packed in the snow outside and had to boil snow for drinking water. It was about 1 1/2 weeks before we got power again. And thank God we did.
