I was wondering if shorts and T-shirts are ok to wear to eat there?
I was hoping that since Universal closes st 6 that we would head there after the park closes.

The websites says the dress code is smart casual.

This is Florida where "smart casual" means shorts and a t-shirt.

We went last December (09). Folks were dressed up for office parties. Even so, I saw several t-shirts.

Never been to the Florida location but have been to other locations many times and I would never wear shorts and a T-shirt there.

Smart casual to me means no shorts. Capri's (nice ones) yes, shorts no.

Once again, this proves, Kelly has much better taste than I. :lmao: I get blinded by the beef.

I wouldn't wear shorts either but then I don't ever wear shorts in public. I have the photographs to prove it.

The Texas de Brazil in Orlando is in the middle of the tourist area.

It's located on International Drive.

We recently had dinner there and there were several people in shorts, us included. (This is FL). Most folks wearing shorts also wore a collared shirt of some sort.

You might feel under-dressed in a just a regular tshirt.

Two other tips about the Orlando Texas de Brazil - don't turn into the parking lot before the restaurant. You can get there by doing it but you are better off waiting to turn at the intersection right after the restaurant.

Trust me on this.

other tip: First time goers can sign up on their website and get a discount.

I agree with Kelly tho it might depend on what time of year you go.

We were at Universal a for a few days over the Christmas holidays last year and wanted to try TdB too. After the parks closed, we went back to our hotel, freshened up, changed and then headed out to TdB. Maybe dining guests were dressed better because they were celebrating the holidays as I remember even kids at the other tables were not in shorts (there's a story of why I remember :rolleyes1) It was great to be in that environment feeling fresh and relaxed. Perhaps you could make a slightly later reservation?

You might want to eat lightly during the day :rotfl: and enjoy! :goodvibes

cheers,
:flower3:

Definitely eat light earlier that day! The first time I went to one was with my entire family in Aruba. My parents had already been there and my father warned us for days before our reservation to starve yourself the entire day and DO NOT waste your stomach space on the "salad" bar (there is MUCH more than salad on that bar). All of the food was very good and we all had to roll ourselves out of there. :thumbsup2

I wonder what a cab would cost from Doubletree outside Universal to this location ... 6 miles away? Anyone have a guess?
