Teva sandals

Here's a copy of it:

Hello all! I've learned so much from everyone these last few weeks, I just wanted to share.
In preparation for our trip, I've been making the family go to local amusement parks for the day to try out all the stuff I've learned (our kids don't know about our WDW trip). The fanny packs with water and snacks worked quite well - we didn't hear a "I'm thirsty" or "Can we get something to eat?" until well after 2pm!
I got Tevas for dh (Terra-Fi) and myself (Pretty Rugged), WalMart ones for the girls and OP ones for my son. We walked just a little over 5 miles yesterday (got a new pedometer, too!) at Six Flags America and everyone's feet were very happy! DH didn't even break in his Tevas and he has all kinds of foot problems. We'll definitely be wearing these in the parks - no soaked sneakers from water rides, no wrinkly, wet feet at the end of the day!

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to try out my Teva Niyati at WDW. I can't begin to express how happy I am that I found this shoe! We spent three full days in the parks, one full day shopping, and one full day exploring resorts. Though I took other sandals, I didn't want to wear anything but my Teva's! After spending days on my feet, I highly recommend Teva Niyati's!

I got a pair of Pretty Ruggeds for my trip in 1999 (and you wouldn't believe all of the naysayers I heard from on this board at the time). That trip was in July and I'd worn them all summer. It was the first time in my life that I'd spent the whole day walking on hot cement and not had blisters. The next year, I took the same pair to WDW in May and I was miserable. It's not just the sandals that need to be broken in! I had a bad case of soft winter feet and I should have worn the Tevas around to get used to wearing them again.

I've had four trips with Tevas, three where they were my only shoe, and one where I alternated with running shoes. Aside from my poor, unprepared feet on the second trip, the only problem I ever had with them was bug bites. My advice is not just sunblock but bug repellent as well.

Here's my update...

I'm so bummed to have to say this but...

I bought the Pretty Rugged leather sandals for my first pair of Tevas. I even tried them on first in the store before I bought them online. At first I thought wow, these are comfy, but after walking in them all day, I realized they definitely hurt me after a long day of walking.

I think my feet might be too wide for them even with the adjustable straps. I felt the left and right part of the ankle strap, where it starts to go down, digging into my heal; like there's just not quite enough space for my heal there. Also I could feel something under my heal through the foot of the sandal which was very uncomfortable after awhile.

I'm so bummed. I wore them for 3 days hoping I could 'break them in' and then they'd be fine but it hasn't happened yet.:( Now they are sitting in my closet.

Oh well, I still have my Ecco Cosmos which are like walking on clouds and needed NO break in time to wear to Disney. But they are not 100% waterproof but I guess they'll have to do. Live and learn.:(

I've never owned Teva's, but have tried a few on in the store and they just don't seem to fit me right, mainly around the little toe. The fit of sandals is a very personal thing and what one person likes another might not be able to wear. I love my straprunners and wear them all day in the parks (and at home). They don't have good arch support, though, and tried on one of the Teva's with good arch support, but had the toe problem. I'll stick with the Straprunners for now.

I just took the Teva plunge about a month ago. I bought 2 pair and LOVE them!!!! SInce I have these, I will not even bother with sneakers and socks for our upcoming trip.

I ordered them online and was a bit concerned about the fit, but no problem!

Good thing to keep in mind!
I'm going to have to go look for Tevas soon!

My mom and I both bought Teva "Labrynth" sandals a month ago for our October trip to WDW. We love these sandals! We both have bone spurs and flat feet, but have taken these sandals on shopping trips and walks and have not had any blisters or sore feet. These are the first sandals I've been able to wear all day without aching feet. :bounce:

I just got back. I wore my Tevas everyday and I never had a problem. They weren't broken in before very much. My feet were tired at the end of the day...don't get me wrong. But I didn't have any blisters or problems from the shoes. I was generally on my feet between 6 and 13 hours a day for 8 days.

a question..has anyone ever worn these with socks that have gotten wet? my dilemma is I have to wear a stocking thing ( like a really thick nylon) due to vascular problems. I bought Tevas last year and wore them all the time for walking around here but was afraid to wear them at disney incase they got wet and hence my foot would be also. then i didn't know if i would get blisters or not since it is not like a pair of socks i can change. don't know if they would be better or worse than nikes and socks( which I could change if wet and hopefully the stocking wouldn't get very wet) so any ideas bout the feasiblity of that..hopping to go on the rapids this trip if the weather is good so chances are good they will get wet ( seriously considering bringing a ziplock bag for my foot, crazy as that would look!)

i don't know which would cause more blisters, ( can never figure out why I get them anyway)

I've been wearing Teva brand sandals for at least 10 years. I LOVE THEM!

I've worn them hiking, in the ocean, walking, swimming, walking on wet, rocky riverbeds, in a canoe, tubing, etc. I've often had a Teva tan :)

I know L.L. Bean used to make fleece socks, some in wild colors / prints, and they were sold near the Tevas. They would dry very quickly if they got wet. I'd check their website, or sporting goods stores.
