Testing the old adage; Trip report

Got back from wdw on mon. Spent 7 days at the world and tested the adage " A bad day at wdw is better than a good day anywhere else".
From day one it was VERY VERY HOT!! very little rain (A couple of evening Squalls that didn't last more than 15 or 20 min. Now I nowhat your gonna say butwith the humidity the heat index was 110 The csm said that it was unusually hot.

The day before we checked into the resort my mother-in-law was kicking a lawn chair at the motel in kissimee and tore half of her toenail off!
Day 2 : My dw and dd were playing on the bed and my dd accidently head butted dw and broke her nose

Mother-in law refused to take the good advice of all you nice people and brought BRAND NEW PLATFORM SANDALS to wear
Compounding the foot problem!

Day 4 my van would not start and the" CARE CENTER"
Charged me 161.00 for a new battery.

Day 7 my dd cought a cold?? and vomited so we decided to pack up and go home

The Parks Were PACKED major rides had 50 to 60 min waits and fastpasses ran out early.

So , you may ask was it worth it?? I can only answer one way.

DEFINITELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!


E_ride nights are Great, and the look in my families eyes as they seen the Magic Kingdom for the first time was truly magical.

My 2 year old dd's expression when she saw Cinderella's castle brought tearstomy eyes.
one Tip for everybody going ,take the DVC tour It's fun and you get cards for fastpasses that you don't have to wait on!

Already planning a magical Gatthering for 2006, and are contemplating joining the DVC.

Well kcb, you're definately a "glass is half full" kinda person!! Such triumph in the midst of such adversity! How does that saying go, ...if it weren't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all...
I'm glad everything ended up well in the end. DVC? Go for it!

WOW!!! After the first part of your long week, I was sure you'd say "And was "I" glad to get back home"!!! You certainly look at your cup 1/2 full. But I have to admit that I have bad knee problems and some days we walk so much that my entire legs start to ache really bad.

By the end of the week I have to sit down every 10 minutes and it will just take the "edge" off. BUT, I LOVE Disney and yes it's worth it to me!! Now I've gotten some shots and take some new medication, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Can't imagine what it would be like to walk around not in allot of pain.

On our April trip to DL, my son got a yeast infection (jock itch-type), but I was grateful that he had had one before and that I was able to pick up the right over-the-counter medicine for it. It kicked in in a day and he was a happy camper.

My dad's tendonitis was acting up so he spent most evenings back at the hotel, but he was happy because Embassy Suites has a free happy hour from 5:30 to 7:30.

I had a cold sore on my lip but was happy because Target sells Lysine which I took everyday and it never got really sore or too big.

My DS got a fever on the last night and into our flight home, but thank god we had a full bottle of tylenol and the Burger King at the airport served chocolate milkshakes.

When I tell it like this, it seems like we had a lot of things go "not right" on our trip, but you know what? We all had a great time and thought the trip was just perfect! (Granted, no one broke anything, but... )

Nothing was going to stop us from having the best time ever at Disney!

Another thing: I was kinda disapointed with the Haunted mansion ,it is really in need of some tlc. The singing statues were all out of line and the omnimover was really jerky.
The stretching rooms walls were kind of ragged, ruining the illusion. One other thing Phillharmagic was truly great !!!
