And I strongly recommend your son sits in the front seat of the ride (ask the CM), this way he can see and no adult will block his view. I actually couldn't see over my DH's head last trip, so from then on I sat in the front. Have fun, you'll love it!

Our family thought it was a great ride. We were fortunate that there were no breakdowns during our time there. The only problem we had was the flash photo that they take during the ride. We would have liked to buy the photo but you can't see the younger kids faces since the frame of the car was blocking them.

My son was 10 at the time he rode it and thought it was boring. We all agreed.

Test Track is a ride where you go through the testing phases that a "new" vehicle would go through. They test the vehicle over different terrain, with and without anti lock brakes, etc. The last part of the ride is where it is more roller coaster like. (it goes fast around a curve). The only thing I noticed last time I was there (in aug '04) was that EVERY time we got in line (with FPs and without) the ride broke down. I read on another site that TT seems to have the longest queue of all the rides in all the parks. Just thought I would mention it, if you expect a wait and dont have one, then it will be even better!

We were there the same time and found the same thing. I understand why it breaks down a lot (so much going on) but it definitely can be a pain waiting for it to get going again. Especially hot! It is however, one of my favorites while it is working. To answer the original question, I am in agreement with the above posters. It's not as scary as a rollercoaster, for sure.

We (dh, dd6, and I) rode TT only once in June-- my dd liked it, but said once was enough... she LOVED M:S, Thunder Mtn., but hated Space Mtn.

The only thing I had against TT was that I ended up with a pretty good-sized bruise on my left knee-- we were in the back of the car, I was on the left side, and my knee banged into something (metalic-- can't remember exactly what) the WHOLE time.... and I don't have very long legs.
