Test Track SDFP

Thanks, my kids will be very disappointed if we don't get to ride TT, whereas if we get to ride FEA it's great, but if not, no one will be sad. So I think I will be changing my FP to TT now. Thanks to all who responded! You've helped me make up my mind. :)

I think you should definitely try to change now. If your family really wants TT, that’s the ride you should use your FP for. We were there early this month. In looking for our 4th FP, I saw FEA several times. I did not see TT pop up at all. I think it is much easier to get FEA same day.

FEA was the single most disappointing ride I’ve been on. Unless there are huge Frozen fans in your group, switch to TT now.

As for experiences, we were just there for President’s Weekend/Week. I was refreshing quite a bit one day to get Soarin’ as TT was down almost all day (we had an anytime FP as a result, but were saving it if it came back up). I never did get Soarin, but Frozen came up a couple of times.

I'm curious... what was it you didn't like? I'm still going to do it, but I'm interested in your perspective.

TT in the morning really shouldn't be too difficult whether you're modifying your 1st FP or adding a 4th or 10th FP as @Klayfish has pointed out. For Epcot I typically find Soarin' to be easiest, then TT, then FEA.

My daughter (13) isn't a fan of FEA even though she does like the movie. I like the ride but part of that may just be the fun of watching my daughter get annoyed with me as I sing Let it Gooooo!!!

1) I enjoyed the Maelstrom (as hokey as it was in parts)
2) Let it Go truly grates my nerves and it’s deafening in that ride :rotfl2:
3) I have a teen son and no daughters so I’m not the target demographic.

Okay! I gotcha! :thumbsup2

My son is 11 years old, but has told me he wants to do FEA and doesn't mind standing in line while his mother meets Anna & Elsa! :cheer2: And as far as the song goes....he and I are ALWAYS singing it together when I have the Frozen soundtrack going in the car. :rotfl2::rotfl2: Guess you and I can't be friends and ever ride together at those moments! :lmao:There were parts of Maelstrom I enjoyed too...but I'm going to give FEA a try anyway.

I did end up switching to TT. I cancelled all of my FP for the morning to check TT availability for my Epcot day, and the earliest I could get was 11:20am. I assume availability is only going to get worse, so I took it, then rescheduled my other two FP for earlier in the am. Day of I will try to move my TT earlier after using the first two FP.

As for Frozen, I like the ride and so does my DS9, who loves musicals. I like to torture my DS12 on the ride by singing to him during it. But, I need to hedge by bets,so now I have TT :)

It's too late now, but you didn't need to cancel your existing FP+ to check for availability. You can start the modify process and check for availability that way...without cancelling what you have.

No, availability won't get worse, it'll get better the day of. What are your first two FP+? Since they are tier 2, they're likely rides that don't need FP+ anyway. So the day of, you can easily move those around to later and try to make TT first. Shouldn't be too hard.

FP availability is constantly changing. I always make 3 FP's per day at 60 days but I rarely use them as originally arranged. Night before and day of I am always changing them. When in the park I start moving FP's up once I've use the first one. From the screenshots I posted above you can see that at 10:12 I found a TT for 10:35.

I was able to get same day FP+ for TT on my August vacation, it was only for 2 though. We rope dropped it, and really enjoyed it more than we thought we would so we booked it as our 4th FP for 2pm, booked it at 11am-ish. However, that was the only day it stormed, so we couldn't use it because it shut down right when we went to do it. They switched it to an any ride any time FP for us because of the closure, so we used it on FEA. For what it's worth, on that rainy day we were able to then ride FEA in the rain 4 times in a row while waiting out our dinner reservation, by using our anytime FP and then 3 back to back day of additional FP that we kept booking while in line for the ride. We were there on a Sunday. You may also have more luck if you break your group up into a group of 3 and a group of 2, as you may not get the exact same window, but two windows with at least 10 minutes of overlap :)

Just a reminder that TT also has single rider as another option.
We were at EP on 2/6/19. We had a 5:30 PM TT FP as our third FP of the day. After using it, during dinner at Via Napoli, @6:30 PM, I was able to pick up a FEA FP for later. So, FEA FPs are also possible same day. Turned out that FEA went down, so the FEA FP became a multi-experience FP which we used on TT before Illuminations.

Is there a minimum age to be able yo use Single Rider?

If you are ok with skipping the design portion of the queue, consider single rider line at rope drop. We have done this twice and it’s so easy. Bypass all the people designing and get in the first cars of the day. We didn’t get split up either but YMMV.

Crowded day experience here: December 26th of this year, which frankly wasn’t even as crowded as a spring break a few years ago before FP+ was released. Anyway, after using our 3 FPs, I refreshed that stupid app all day long until at least 9pm, and I got nothing for TT. When the kids went to ride late after dinner, it still had a 60 min single rider wait. So much for “easy refresh”.

Sorry that was your experience, but it's definitely a YMMV thing. Xmas week 2017 and 2015 we had no issues. It took a little bit of time, but we always got it.

I'd get TT. I have always been able to get 4th FP for FEA when looking for just 1 or 2 people (I easily can do 2 overlapping - i.e., book 1 at a time). Might not understand who wants to do FEA in OP's family, but if its just 1 parent and 1 child, that could work well for you. I.e., just I or myself and I child would go do FEA while the other family membership get a snack or watch the China movie or whatever.
Note that if TT is down (it was down alot - we go during rainy times), IIRC while you get an anything tier 1 FP it doesn't include FEA. But that might have changed since my last (2018) trip.

When I went mid August 2018 they FP they gave out when TT shut down did include FEA, because I know that's what we used it on, so unless it changed again, it was included on their any ride any time FP
