We are visiting early November and really hoped to ride test track will this be possible? As one website says it is to open in September and another says it will be 30th November.

Sorry if this has already been posted.

November 30 is the last date I heard, and I don't trust that. I'm afraid it's not looking good for early November at least--sorry.

I just wonder how realistic that date is. What's Disney's track record [no pun intended] in dealing with similar projects? Specifically, do we see them pretty much adhere to the schedules, or are they wrought with delay upon delay?

We're due to arrive 2nd week of Dec, 2012, and this ride is a "must" for my kids. Hoping that there's a sufficient enough cushion built in there.

Probably know more as time goes on. I wouldn't plan a trip based on if a ride was going to be open or not though.

I'd expect it to be part of Disney's fall schedule. It goes like this: September: Jack Sparrow; October: TT; November: Fahtasyland

We just did a backstage tour of Epcot and the CM said the only thing they have been told is that Test Track is scheduled to re-open sometime in November. She said that CM's would probably only find out a few days before we do as to when it will re-open.

This does not bode well for the big Annual F&W/ MNSSHP trip. I'm gonna have about 15 very upset people with me...Guess I will need to sample more wine!

That's a good example of a CM purely guessing and/or making stuff up that sounds good. The CM's that will run TT will have to be trained again if anything changed with loading procedures and will know they are schedule to work the TT Pavillion at least 2 weeks in advance when the work schedules post.

November 30 is that date given on the officail Epcot calendar, so this is the date Disney is providing to the public. Could they miss this date? Of course they could, but since they aren't changing the ride system I think it's possible they could make this date.

Does anybody by chance know how soft openings work? I was wondering if there is a chance that there might be soft openings the beginning of November. Our chances of being there on the day they actually have one are slim...but I am hoping to be there at least two of the days in our trip. Do they usually open them up that much earlier to try things out?

Love Soarin' myself , but my DS and his best friend and her mother love TT! And I will miss it. This might be our last Disney visit for quite awhile - we need to start visiting colleges during our time off, and I promised him a trip to the Grand Canyon (which is starting to look more expensive then WDW !

Thanks!

It would be unusual to start them that far in advance, but you never know.

1- Yes.

2- 24.5%

3- Sometimes.

well they had people on thunder mountain last week i saw someone have a youtube up already of the ride. last year i was on startours a week early before it "opened" from random chance walking from the Muppets to Indiana Jones. i am pretty sure the date they give is got a lot of extra beef in it so they dont get caught with delays. does anyone remember the space mountain closing and refurb like 4 years ago. i would put this on the same scale.

A week early for soft openings is one thing. Nearly a month is something else.

Everything I have found reads . . . scheduled to reopen on November 30th, 2012.

From my past experience, Disney under-promises. I would bet it opens during the week of Thanksgiving. That is the second busiest week for the WDW parks. Soarin' line would be ridiculous if Test Track is not open. If that's the case, a soft opening might happen the week of November 19th. But, be prepared for periodic ride closure due to on-going testing. (Just my opinion. :goodvibes)
