test track or soarin' fast pass?

I am outlining a 2 day strategy for FP+ for Epcot in OCT 2016. We plan to only ride Soarin once but TT at least 3 times(my boys LOVE it, so do I) so planning to get FP+ for TT both days. One day we hit Soarin at RD and other day we hit TT at RD. Only wrench in this plan is what tier the new Frozen ride will fall into.

I haven't read any replies, nor the original post... Soarin', because Test Track has single rider. Boom.

We do something similar. We always head to Epcot for a few hours on arrival day. I make our Soarin' FP+ for that day. We usually check to see what the wait time is for TT before we leave the park that evening. If it's short (under 20 minutes) we'd ride it -- but it's usually over an hour so we don't. On our full day in Epcot we schedule a FP for TT at about 9:30-10:30 but we get to the park early enough to be at the front of the pack heading to TT at rope drop so we can ride it s/b before using our FP.

It will be interesting to see where the Frozen ride falls....though it really doesn't matter to us since we always do 2 days worth of FP+ at Epcot.

Off topic, but if Frozen becomes Tier 1, EPCOT is going to become my worst nightmare for FP+...

I had a FP for Soarin' at 9:15 with plans to go to TT after that., but have since heard two close friends say they waited over an hour for TT and had a small wait for Soarin'. Any thoughts?

I would definitely advise against your current plan. With that FP+ time for Soarin', you could instead go straight to TT at rope drop, ride TT standby together without a ridiculous wait, then very likely still have time to ride something else (Mission Space/Figment/The Land) before catching the end of your 9:15-10:15am Soarin' window. If you ride Soarin' first with FP at 9:15am (when standby might only be 20 minutes), by the time you get over to TT, the TT standby line could easily be anywhere from 30-60 minutes. Although in September, maybe closer to 30 minutes.

Which ride you fastpass (Soarin' or TT) depends on the makeup of your group and which ride you want to do more. For us, we don't like the new TT as much as the old version, and we don't mind single rider, and over the years have come to like Soarin' more. On our two Epcot days of last trip, we rode Soarin' at rope drop with less than 15 minute wait. Then TT using single rider line (less than 10 minutes vs posted 30-40 minute standby wait). Then did other rides in Future World, working our way back over to Soarin' for FP sometime around noon.
