i read that the dis boards are going down sometime after 5 pm on friday.
they will be down for 24 to 48 hours for upgrading.

so, if you try to get on tomorrow evening and can't, don't panick.

maybe i will get some work done around my dump then.

get a new computer and no one to talk with unless we all go on aim.....

keisha, if the boards are done, just want to tell you now i hope the have a great time at the wedding.
and don't cry when they get married. you have a spare still left at home...

and to all the other test homies here, if the boards are down, want to wish you the best christmas ever this year.

i think we all are aging together............going on 3 years now.

Hey mac, cool beans about the computer, but sorry you have to figure out a way to pay for it... ;) hmmm...working full time, I feel your pain....and I've been back to it for a year...I can't believe on 1/16 I've got 12 months under my tush at this job. If I thought of leaving, I'm thinking I'm should rethink it, as I got a healthy bonus check for xmas, and if he is talking of giving us a week off at Christmas next year...that is a plus...guess I'll stick out the -'s for the +'s

Oh dear, hope the boards don't go down, but if they do, we can congregate on AIM to wish each other happy holidays....for those traveling...safe trips and lots of Christmas cheer coming at ya........

Mac, you better get your tush in gear, only 3 eves til Santa comes :moped:

yea, only 3 more sleeps after tonight to do the shopping.

think i can do what homer did and bring home the doggy, santa's little helper for the fam as a present....??

nah........the cat wouldn't like that.

i have no idea where to begin. i asked the sons what did they want for christmas and they said either, i don't know, but will let you know by sunday afternoon or 360 xbox............yea, like there are many in the stores at this point.........

i might have to put iou's in their stockings this year.

since keisha has the wedding on saturday, i bet she has her shopping all done.

I should be at her house late this afternoon Mac.....then Sunday I'll fly to Memphis and back to Atl on the 28th....

Momma, I didn't know you were coming north for the holiday, but guess I should have just known that ;) Wish your time was longer here so we could get together. Have a safe trip on the road........

We are getting off my 2 p.m. I think today...

Did I tell you yesterday about the mouse running around my desk? And NO it is not the one I love...perhaps I should name him Mickey?? No way, he is big and ugly, not like my Mickey :goodvibes

A mouse is just sooo gross!!! I'm so sorry that happened to you. YUCK!!

I wish I had more time to play too. Actaully, to refresh your memory, last Chrsitmas was a nightmare becasue my mom kept scheduling parties and things and then I ended up staying longer. I had a good time, but I really don't like being dictated a schedule when I go up.

My family has no idea I am going to the party tomorrow night. There are going to be 60 family members there and well, now I guess 65. I plan on feeding everyone (especially Lee) before we go so my aunt doesnt freak out that 5 more people showed up that she has to feed.

Anyway, it works out better for me that they don't know because for at least two days I have nothing planned except the things I decided to do. It's rare that happens, especially over the holidays. I will actaully be able to see my dad and have a little more time with Lee's mom. Not that I really want to do that, but Nico and Julie have been asking and asking for her. So I feel like I need to do that for them.

My mom asked begged pleaded with me to stay longer and I said no. Then she asked Lee if he would stay longer and she would pay for him to go to a hockey game. He said no. (dont get me started on how annoyed I was that she wouldn't accept my no the first time.) So, then I got an email from my brother asking if Nico can stay "(and I guess Julie too)" were his choice of words, for an extra two days and he would bring them back. That way he can take Nico to the hockey game.

So, I packed extra clothes and I'll talk to them when we get up there about that. My two concerns are, 1. He won't bring them back ontime and 2. What was he going to do with Julie when he takes Nico to the hockey game? I'll make the decision on that when I get up there, in the meantime, the only person that keeps bringing up the hockey game to Nico is my mom :sad2: I know she just is trying to spend more time with her grandkids, but I think it boarders manipulation just a tad.

ocm have your mom come to your place to spend more time with the kids.
that way, they all get to see her more.

my mil sent me and mr mac a ftd called the candy cane bouquet. it has 4 candy canes, 6 red carnations, and 5 white flowers. have no idea what they are but it almost looks like a daisy variety. it sits in a white imitation wood basket.
i was on the phone at the time so just grabbed it when the delivery person was at the door. when i got off the phone i looked at the delivery.

just came back from taking the bouquet back to the florist.
it is full of ferns, firs, and evergreens.........all toxic to cats.
and she knows there are cats here!! even the florist said no one with cats should receive something with this much greenery.

i'm having her account credited back as this was not the christmas present she should have sent. she knows better and did it intentionally.

i really don't need a present from her. this is the first time she has sent me one in 15 years. don't have any idea why she decided to send me something this year........very confusing. ( but maybe it is because she does not like cats.....)

she stopped sending presents to her grandsons many years ago.
even if she sent something to me and mr mac, we could not accept it as she ignores her grandsons.

i had called the vet and asked how toxic these greenerys were to cats.
vet said, very toxic and don't keep it in the house around the kitties.
whenever i send her flowers, i always check and ask before hand will it be harmful to her dog. i thought everyone did that when there are pets living in the household.

rant of the day is now over.

aren't you glad..... :teeth:

i just can't get over how mean the mil is.
she has always been like this to me and the boys.

Mac - I don't often think to check if things are toxic to animals. Infact, I don't think I have ever thought about it. I'm sorry she ignores you and your kids, that isn't a very nice grandmother thing to do at all.

I have to say on my moms behalf, she is the opposite extreme. She dotes on her grandchildren. It would hurt my feelings to have a MIL treat my kids like that too.

Man, all these inlaws are acting like outlaws....that is sad :guilty: I'm glad I'm a model MIL... :teeth: :joker: :p In fact, DIL was ranting online last night about something between her and son over Christmas day, and I really agree with ds on this one, but I told her I was gonna be a good MIL and stay out of it...she laughed and said "take the high road Mom"...

It is raining cats and dogs here...traffic was shut down cause President Bush's helicopter had to land near town and it was a mess they say going north, south, east and west...guess he was on his way to Camp David...oh gee, traffic never stops for me

i'm back....went to the grocery store and eagerly gave them $201 for food.

they just love me at that store.

college son likes home made meals so that's what i am doing.

of course it takes forever to make the egg noodles but being the mom i am, i will do that.
once i roll out the egg/flour mixture, i let it sit in the fridge for some hours before i cut the strips and cook them after they dry out.

all the hours of preparation and over with in 5 minutes tops when he sits down to eat.

we have been very fortunate as neither grandparents have wanted or asked us to their homes for any holidays. all my kids know are our four walls during those times. they caught on early on how the gparents were on both sides. i'm being fair, my folks are just as bad as mr mac's foks are.

i would be just as happy if my boys never married or had kids.
you don't miss what you never had.

mr mac thinks that is nuts. he wants gkids.
i told him then he can babysit and take them for a weekend whenever that will happen......lol

i guesss when youi are in your mid 50's before the kids graduate from high school it gives a different mind set on wanting g kids.
