Yep, that's what's going on. She waits until two weeks before the money is due to tell me she can't come up with the money . . . and this after I've been repeatedly asking her if she was positive she could do it for the last six months ! So basically I've got 2 nonrefundable plane tickets, Universal tickets (and express plus passes only good for 11/20 and 11/22), meal vouchers, an 8 night dream maker package and a 3 night room only ressie with $532 still due on them (which has to be paid be the 28th), and about 300 Disney dollars, and only a week and a half to find someone to go with me ~ ooh I'm just soooooooooo mad at her, if it was a health issue or something, that'd be different . . . but she's had six months! The reason she has no money (in my personal opinion) she spends all the money she does have on her inserst non-dis appropriate word here bf I even offered to ask to borrow the money from my uncle who offered to loan me some if I had trouble getting my share together in time, her respone to that : no, she wouldn't have any spending money anyway , again SHE'S HAD 6 MONTHS!!! jules, come with me.......i leave oct 1 thru 12.
8 nights at disney then 4 nights at hard rock hotel.
my room is paid for so you can stay free. double beds at all star and two king beds at hard rock.
if you pay the penalty for the change, it is possible you can switch dates on your air. depends on your carrier.
universal passes good forever, tickets non expiring. you can switch the express passes if you want. by staying on site at hard rock , the express isn't necessary as it comes free with the rooms on site. or universal does buy them back in some cases.
meal voucher.............i don't know much about them.

come with me, it will be cheaper foryou as you don't need to pay for any rooms.

i can't go in november but if i could i would be on line now buying a plane ticket.

the reason i am going solo is simple, two friends copped out on me after i made ressies and paid for the plane, deposit at hrh, mnsshp ticket and paid the $200 on my dream maker package , bought the universal passes and hhn tickets............

i booked april 30. bought most of everything early. friends cancelled out on me last month. i recently made plans for gay dan to meet me while i am down there. he booked a room for one night at disney and two nights at royal pacific at universal. i will have company for 3 1/2 days now. dan is bringing his partner.

i meet someone on line on the disboards and meeting up with her for mnsshp and dinner one night. the rest of the time i am solo. the solo part i can live with, getting transp to and from mco to hotel, hotel to new hotel, and hotel to airport is what i dread.

if you don't wnat to switch dates or can't because of work, consider going solo.
its not as bad as you think. listen to me, first time i am going solo there, but i am looking forward to it now i have to. at first it bothered me greatly, not, i relish the idea of no dead beat no good ex friends or family going with. but i would thoroughly enjoy your company on this trip jules.

the other couple just called and cancelled out. the lady just remembered she already made pland with another couple and cancelled with us because she said we would understand better than the other couple. they would get mad.

Hi all, back from my day in the trenches....I mean the world of retail....gotta love a Saturday...especially after a rainy day..."let's pile all the kids in the car and hit the mall Ma"....and they came...LOL..costumes still big sellers....

Ok, no one has asked my opinion....BUT...as I like to say....I'm giving it anyway. Jules and Mac, what a perfect opportunity to mesh your vacations as solo travelers and get together....oh please Jules, try and do it....I told you I would go with you, but timing is bad for me...my trip to AZ plus I can't get off in November from the store...(retail holds you hostage over holidays)...so PLEASE, PLEASE try and get it worked out with mac, that would be fantabulous for both of you....wow, I want to go too...I really do

I would feel awful if I did that to a friend, with 6 months to plan and then back out at last minute (unless like you said, emergency or health issue)...especially once plane tickets are bought..that is not a very reliable friend...sorry...again...its my opinion....but you need a new friend!!!

hi all. i only have a short time to be online. told dh aka sh that i would go out with him to eat. he drinks i don't so i drive. jules, if you want to go with me, i will get a drink with you and it won't be water. first time for everything huh.

i might not drink it but a sip but i will get a drink with you.

yea mic. my so called friends cancelled out on me. they have been saying for two years they want to go to disneyworld but needed someone that has been there before to show them the ropes there.
of course i said yes..........we started planning in march. i had a special from disney buy 4 night dream maker paackage and get 4 nights free. it was people that opened a visa disney card between feb 1 thru april 30. you had to be approved for the card and use it and then book your dream maker package by april 30. i get $100 disney dollars, $25 gc for planet hollywood, two lanyards and pins, the room and uph all for $700. since it is based on two person occupancy i had to pay the extra. otherwise it was 499 per person. still a great deal and i added a room only night. i also booked hard rock hotel for 4 nights and used the entertainment card for the discount. already recieved my bonus pass of 5 days for us/ioa, the hhn event for two nights and special express pass for hhn and bought the mnsshp for oct 3. the hard ticket events are non refundable no matter what. also bought the plane tickets in early may. in july ( isaid last month when i posted before but forgot this is sept) they said they weren't sure. only because i asked them if they got their plane tickets yet they told me that.
i bought the hhn after i found out they cancelled but got the mnsshp before they cancelled. they were to pay 2/3 of the hrh bill and split the town car from home to airport and town car from mco to hotel to other hotel and then to mco back.
transportation alone for the car is $100 one way from home to chgo airport. times that by two, and the quote i have from two car services in orlando runs between $135 to 155. that stuff i was only to pay 1 / 3 now i pay it all...........$ i hadn't planned for. thank goodness for cc...................
on the dream maker package they were only going to get the park tickets on line. I had it set up where we would pay the extra $10 per night for the third adult.
they said they would kick in 40 for the room to help out.

lo and behold, they cancelled out on me. said they would only want to stay 5 days only............and said they didn't put in for vacation time from work.....
just yesterday they told me they went to see a travel agent and are making plans to go to new york for 5 days...........guess when they are going........oct of course. and then they asked if i wanted to go with them and cancel my orlando trip.

i am going solo and will enjoy it. i made up my mind that screw them, my one and only trip without the kids and i will go and see everything i missed before.
i even booked the value resort so it would be cheaper for them, i would have if i knew i was going alone would have booked sept which is the last day of value season, bought a ap and done the room only thing at disney. instead, i start the first day of regular season. oh and get this, if i would have booked during value season, the dream maker package would have been for me $575 total.

yea, jules, i know exactly how you feel......................come with me, we will have fun...................you can meet my gay cousin for 2 of the days at disney and come with me to universal after we leave disney....

to answer your question mickey, yea, my friends cancelled out on me too. but i am going to make the best of it.. more i talk about it i AM looking forward to this solo trip.
