Hi again.... this was our longest day really...
We woke up to goofy! Great tip there! the kids loved it, I got breakfast whilst DH got kids ready, but we still only made it to the park for 8:30 on Magic hours day...
Went straight to Buzz - less than 5 min wait, brilliant! Then headed for Peter Pan - kids watched out for Tink this time and saw her thank goodness!then a 10 min wait for Dumbo, they like to take me up really high and jiggle it about!!! not fair!!!!
Then the park opened so tried for POTC
- technical difficulty delayed the opening, so trogged over to Phantom Manor, only a short wait - 5 min tops and in we went - kids were not too phased by the intro - lightning was a bit scary, and they didn't like it when it went pitch black - but no screaming fits so I think they were OK. DD2 (4- with dh) hated the ride - too many skeletons, but DD1 (6 - scaredy cat) loved it as I joked on the way about all the Mr Skellybones, must try this with DD2 next time...
We all loved just taking in the view on the riverboat trip next - loads of folk waiting, but we all got on... it slowed the pace a bit - it was getting very hot again, so the water cooled things down too...
We were feeling a bit adventurous after, so went exploring , skull rock, suspension bridge (you feel like you are still on it for some time after getting off!!!) and then into the tree house - kids loved it -I am not keen on heights, but got round ok - felt a bit scared on the very top - but quickly got over it as the kids were having such fun looking at the park from up there.
Then headed out of the park - scouting out the Christmas shop on the way
and a couple of others...
A nice slow lunch at DCR cabin once more followed by a treat for the kids - a pony ride! ( 6Euros per pony per 15 min) We arrived a bit early, and the man let the kids groom their ponies (the look on their faces the first time they ever brushed a real live pony was priceless
) before he saddled them and off they went for 15 min with US leading them -I DID NOT like the responsibility conferred by this, I do not know ponies, how to lead them etc.... and the trouble was that ponies love fresh green grass to eat and put their heads down suddenly - first DD2 fell off then DD1 - both were OK as it was soft landing, and jumped up to get back on for the rest of their time, but I asked the man to lead them, although he said OK, I got the impression he was not too happy about it, but the rest of the time passed less froughtly!! Despite falling off, both girls went on and on and on and....... about pony rides and made us promise to look into doing it at home.
We then had a lovely long swim before heading to Annettes for tea - kids fish (nice tasting!!) and Hot dog - nice but seemed a bit salty, me taco bowls with all sorts in - yummy, dh chick burger - loved it!
Then the kids wanted to go on IASW - went on twice in a row (7pm ish - virtual walk on ) as they wanted to do each side. Then we heard an announcement that an extra candleabration would take place at 9, so though we'd take things easy and see if the kids were "up for it" went on the tea cups - they spun me soooo fast! and headed for Pirates - a walk on - dd2 liked it better this time with her sister going on about Mr Skellybones helping her see it as silly not scary!
Then candleabration - did not pick a great spot for the show with the characters on the stage - need to be in main St for that I think, but we saw the castle bit brilliantly. It was magnificent in the dark - but my camera is not good enough to capture it - sorry...
They switch off the pink glow lights on the walls, the avenue lights and all the lights round the pavements by the castle - then the lights twinkle on the turrets and each candle lights in turn from the bottom up to tink last of all and she sends a spray of pixie dust(sparkles) from her wand which then flashes - streamers then came shooting out by the castle fences(where we were standing - so the kids picked up a souvenir). Mickey and his friends dance on the stage in front of the castle area - but mainly face main St, so to get a good view, you need to be there.
Then back to DCR and sleeeeeeeepppppppppp! (ant free!!!)
