Just had another £50 in Tesco vouchers this morning to eventually use against a Virgin holiday next year. The way we are collecting these we should have nearly enough to pay for the whole holiday. If we plan this right I can book 2 weeks at QI Plaza with Virgin and then book 5 nights at the Polynesian with attraction tickets. Once in Orlando we can inform QI Plaza that the last 5 nights we will not need the room. Should save several hundred pounds by doing this. :thumbsup2

wow you must spend a fortune there. :)

it was posted the other day that you can only use your vouchers when you book by phone- is that right? :confused3
so you lose the 5% online discount.

you could book online and use your vouchers for sun tan lotion :cutie:

:confused3 :confused3

Cool!

We got £650 through in vouchers this quarter, thats a total of £2600 when they are converted! Woohoo!!:)

We don't spend a fortune in Tesco but we put everything on the credit card which in turn earns us points. We then pay off the bill immediately. We also ask family to use our card when they shop in tesco. I work as a community mental health nurse and use a lot of petrol. This also goes on the card again earning us points. I would prefer to lose 5% discount and use £200 of vouchers which would equate to £800 off the holiday. I have also asked about a 2 center holiday. We want to spend the last 5 nights of a 14 day holiday at the Poly. Virgin are charging £3000+ for 3 of us. If we book 14 nights at QI Plaza the cost (next year) is about £1700, we then book the last 5 nights with attraction tickets at the Poly for about £1000 saving over £300. Add that to the voucher saving and that is a good deal.
Tell me T16GEM, how do you get £650 worth of vouchers?!!:thumbsup2

Go have a look at a website called paidtoshop.co.uk it has some great hints about how to get more points :thumbsup2

Like you we use our Tesco credit card for everything, we also run our own business so all our stock and invoices are paid for on it too, always accumulating points! To be honest though it was an exceptionaly good quarter! We aren't using them on holidays though, we are saving up for my new car! :)

wow £650 in vouchers! im shocked.

yeah its a good idea to get friends n family to put points on your card.,
i use my credit card to get the extra points too.

I got £10.50 in vouchers through this morning and I thought that was pretty good!!

I've just applied for a Tesco cc and this is our plan too!:thumbsup2

That's excellent! We looked at doing this for when we go in 2010 but we would lose our 10% Frequent Virgin Discount which will work out at about £500. I can't see me getting £125 in Tesco vouchers between now and then unfortunately!!

Hi, just checked the Tesco website as was considering using our vouchers against the cost of next year's holiday also.

Did you realise that you have to convert your clubcard vouchers into deal vouchers BEFORE you even book the holiday. You then book by phone with VH and have to send the vouchers to them within 3 days to have the money used against your holiday.

I had assumed that you could just convert them near the time the final balance was due and use them to pay it off.

Hope this doesn't ruin your plans.

You can buy the deal vouchers online using the codes on your blue vouchers sent from tesco. I did this earlier this year and they arrived 2 days later. As it happened i preffered to get the 10% Virgin discount for having a Vigin mastercard so didn't use my vouchers and sent them back to tesco and they converted them back to points. (Virgin told me I could do this so they must be used to people changing their minds!)

When you book using clubdeals you have to send them all at the time of booking - you can't use any more to pay off later as you've built some more up. Also the vouchers can not be used for your deposit so you still have this to pay.

I had £550 worth but decided to save up some more over the next couple of years so i can almost pay for it all and then it will be worth forgoing the 10% discount.

I have managed to save just over £1000 in deals points but it has taken me almost 2 years to get that! I am putting it towards a cruise with Virgin in 2009 just for DH and myself (ssshhhhh - don't tell the kids!) £650 in just one quarter is amazing!

The vouchers can be used to pay the deposit and taxes, I have booked 2 holidays with virgin with zero cost to me using Tesco vouchers.

Don't forget though that once you have converted them into vouchers to spend on your holiday or what ever then they do have an expiry date on them again, if you don't book your holiday in time to use the converted vouchers it is possible to get Tesco to convert them back into points for you so that you don't lose out. Just a tip!

We have approx 7k off our car now! I can't wait to get it - hopefully in the next week or two!

Natalie £9!! £9!! What's all that about! Ha ha!

ive just had £9 :rotfl2:

I think im a lightweight !

You're doing better than me Natalie - I got £8!

I save them for days out in the summer as theme park entrance fees can be pricey. I give our parents the face value for their vouchers too and convert theirs also.

I find it really hard to get points - got £36 this quarter which I thought was good

Must admit I've lost interest in it - must get motivated
