Tervis Straw Cleaning?

I have Tervis Tumblers and the travel lids and straws that go with them. Love that the straws are fairly universal and i get to use them with my CS mug.

Lately I have making breakfast smoothies and using the mug to drink from with the straws. I just tend to sip whenever so I can finish it whenever. But cleaning the smoothies out of the straw is getting to be challenging. I can still see some after I wash it(and no dishwasher here) in the sink.

So if you use these what do you clean them out with?

I usually use disposable straws. It's a challenge to find ones that are long enough for my 24oz Tervis, so when I find them, I stock up!

I've seen small brushes that could also be used, but (being honest here), I'm lazy. =)

I use pipe cleaners for my kids straw cups.

There is a certain home goods store that has the letter B in its name three times (not sure if I can use the name here). They have a straw-sized flexible brush that runs around 3.99. It's a great item for cleaning those straws.

Bed Bath & Beyond sells a straw cleaning brush. They're in the 'Gadgets' section of the housewares.

Go to the baby section of the store and look in the bottle section. Some of the bottles have straws so there are little brushes to clean them.

I just bought one there a week ago and it works great.
