Terry's Marathon training thread (Comments welcome)

Good Morning (okay - I know it is afternoon)!
Just reporting in to let everyone know I feel good! I mean GOOD! No headache. No bodyache. Not too shabby and a very nice and welcome change!

I did walk after my shot last night. I decided to read a book while walking on the treadmill (and holding on to the rail). I walked at a super slow pace, had an interesting book, not so good music on the radio station, a big water bottle, and a part of a CLIF bar. After an hour, my dh came downstairs and asked when I was going to be done. An hour!! I told you it was a good book. ;)

Maybe it was the longer distance and the slower speed. Maybe my body is adjusting (finally) to the Avonex. Maybe it was because the shot was on top of my thigh. Maybe it was because I slept until 10:30 this morning. ;) Whatever the reason I am taking it! My head is a little foggy so I will be taking the day easy.

Just wanted to share my good news! :hyper:

Hi Terry,

I got your PM. Give me a couple of days to work on it, and I'll send you a PM.

I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling good today. You certainly have had more than your share of horrible Mondays. I'm glad this one is good.

Take care and don't overdo it.
Beth

So Terry, you mentioned a change in your Thanksgiving plans. So what are the plans????

Glad to hear you are feeling so good after your shot this week. That is wonderful news! :teeth:

An hour on the Treadmill? :earseek: Better ask for some more good books from Santa so you can keep going!! ;)

Hope you are having a great Tuesday!

Hi Sharon!
Yes, a change in holiday plans for us. We were supposed to be going to Chicago for Thanksgiving, but because of my 'stuff', we are staying here for Tday. It looks like the family will becoming over here! So... 2 parents, 2 sisters (with 1 boyfriend), 1 brother, 1 SIL, and 3 kids, plus my 4 adds up to a pretty big crowd for a quickie dinner. My mom is bringing the bulk of the food - we are just changing locations. ;)

I finished that book so I need to find another one if I am going to get my miles in on the treadmill. It is such a boring way to walk! :tilt:

Wow Terry,

You are cooking for a crowd! It is just the 3 of us this year.

I just need to look up 2 more meds, and I'll PM you, but it probably won't be until Mon because of the boards being down. Have a fabulous Thanksgiving filled with laughter and love.

I don't know if you like mysteries, but a new James Patterson/Alex Cross book is out. I highly recommend the series.

Guess what happened here today?? I know I know... for some this won't be a big deal... for my kids it was HUGE!

It snowed! ALLLL day! That wet slushy snow... the heavy stuff. We, of course, had to go out in it. ;) My ds shoveled the driveway (even though it is supposed to be in the 40s tomorrow), my dd cleared the deck so we can take the dog out. We also made a snowman, only to find out that it freaks out Scamp and now he won't 'go' out back! LOL! Dumb Dog. ;) He's lucky he is so cute.

I am done cleaning house for tomorrow. Just have some laundry to finish folding and that just might wait until tomorrow morning! I also need to walk tomorrow! 4 miles - looks like I will need a REALLY good book for the treadmill, because I am not walking in the snow!

Beth, I will check for those books at the library. I love a good mystery. Have you read any of Janet Evanovich's books? That's what I just finished. Very funny! I love them! It isn't often that a book makes me laugh out loud, but the Stephanie Plum novels do. :teeth: Thanks again for checking those meds for me. I really do appreciate it!!!

May everyone's turkey be moist and juicy!!

It was big for my kids too. I didn't let them go out in it though.:( It is too close to our trip and I wanted them to stay inside where it was warm and dry. My daughter is fighting a bug so she wouldn't have gone out even if there wasn't a trip. Rather than hear any crying from her about "how unfair it is" they all stayed in.
Glad to hear your kids had a fun day out in it. Your dog sounds cute!

Happy Thanksgiving.:D

Happy Thanksgiving, Terry!

We woke up to snow in Ohio today as well! Have a great day!

I hate snow! :) Thankfully it is all starting to melt away :) We really got it good in Saint Charles County - probably an inch or two. And it is really really WET. LOL! I hope your Thanksgiving was great!

Hi Terry...

Just got through reading your journal, sorry it took me so long. You've had so much going on the past couple of month, it amazes me how you keep it all together. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. That was great that they were able to come down and spend it with you guys.

Hope your kids enjoyed the snow. In the 7 years we lived there, I don't remember it snowing much, just a lot of rain, ice and COLD....

Good morning, Terry. How are you today? Did you have your shot last night? I hope that you're :boat: along the best that you can.

It sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving. Isn't snow the best around the holidays? Now I think it can go away until Christmas! :D

Do you have a walk in the plan for today? Pace yourself, OK?

Erin

Hi Terry!

Are you recovered from all your company and holiday? I hope you all enjoyed yourselves! :cool1:

How did it go with the shot last night? I hope and pray that you feel as good as you did last week afterwards! :cloud9:

Have a great Monday!

Good Morning Everyone! oops.. Good afternoon! hee hee
Okay - so I have been up for only a little while but I am FEELING GREAT!!! :cool1: oh yeah! :cool1: Yep - last night was shot night. It went okay. I think we may have had a dull needle this time. Quite the prick on insertion but it was okay. We had company so I didn't get to walk right away -- only got 20 minutes in on the treadmill but today it feels like it must have been enough. Yeah!

Thanksgiving was nice. We had a full house with people coming and going. Thursday we had 14 people here. My kids really enjoyed sharing a holiday with family (and not having to be the ones driving somewhere!) and getting to hang out all day in one place. Friday we had friends in from TN - YEAH! It was so good to see them and get to visit and catch up on things. Saturday was decorating day. With some help, the Bomb (that's what my dh calls the Christmas tree he found at Kmart 2 years ago) is up and decorated. We are missing some things - like my cruise ornaments, the tree skirt - but they have to be here somewhere! Just have to find out which box they were mistakenly up in by the movers. Some other house decs are out, as well as the bathroom, so I am getting there. We don't have an electric source outside, so I am not sure what we are going to do out there. :sad2:

Today is a day of rest for me, so no walking. I do have to take the kids to the orthodontist however. I am hoping to get through the rest of the day without any more Naproxen. Wish me a headache free afternoon! :headache: :wizard: :D

Hope you feel well for the rest of the day. Glad your Turkey day was a happy one. :flower1:

I'm gl;ad that your Thanksgiving was nice. It is also good to hear that you are feeling good today after your shot. I hope your headache goes away. is it from the orthodontist bill?

Take care,
Beth
