On Tuesday I was in English, second period, when we got an announcement that we were to go to the school theater for an assembly. On my way to put my books in my locker, my friend told me two planes had hit the WTC. I got all the way down the hall to my locker and then I realized what she had said. We had a thirty-five minute assembly where a lot of kids ended up crying. Some spent the next two periods in the bathroom crying for relatives. It was so horribly, terribly sad.

We had a 3 minute silence at college today. The whole performing arts faculty (300 people) stood outside. The atmosphere was so melancholy, a lot of people were crying.

(Just a vent:)
As the days go on, I'm getting more and more fed up about people's to all this. The people who talk about it like a movie, and people who say that this could be world war 3, but its ok because we have more people on our side, and even the people here who seem to be using this tragedy to boost their post count. I wish people would understand that thousands of lives have been lost, and we can't solve this by carpet bombing Afghanistan.

The people who were on the flight that crashed in Pennslyvania were extremely brave and heroes in my book. After being herded into the back of the plane and told that they were going to die, they decided to take the plane back from the hijackers. They knew they were going to die anyway but they wanted to do something. So they waited until they were over a big field and they knew no one but themselves were going to die and then they struck. They must have gotten the plane back, and they crashed there. After investigation, they think the plane was headed for the nation's capitol. The passengers on that flight might be awarded the Presidential medal of Freedom.

Those are real heroes.

I couldn't believe it when I heard the news. It just doesn't seem real. It's been a sad week for the world and I'm sure that everyone's thoughts and prayers are with America.

In our school we had 2 massses and people where crying and everything. My beast friend Ashley was crying. My one friend was worried because her dad was in NY that day, we live a lillte less than an hour form Ny so I was like OMG! We also had a pryer service, I go to a catholic school(Not Fun!). But that is sooooooo sad!!! It was amazing because all of America is coming together as one! But it really makes you realize that it could have been you or your family so you realize how lucky you really are!

Love Always,
C.C.

CMH has had a number of small private services and a prayer service since Tuesday. We might have more but I think that we might want to try to get back to normal life....as hard as that will be.
