Almost three years after an attack killed 200 people in Bali, looks like another one in the same area (one that is commonly frequented by foreign tourists). Anyone seen mention of this on the news yet?

Terror attacks

I guess not. Anyway, the toll is at 25 so far. Most of which will be Indonesians. Stupid idiots.

I just saw this on the iwon news. It is so sad :sad1:

Death toll is up to 36 now. Funny how it seems to receive so little coverage, though.

:confused3

It was the lead story on all the evening news and the top story on most news sites.

Hrmm, maybe I'm watching the wrong channels (need to get off the football stations....).

Maybe the better word woud be attention?

Yes, the football games do not have Bali casualties interspersed with the scores. Maybe your attention.

It has been, since early this AM, the lead story on every TV news channel and front page on every online news site. I am sure it will be headline or at least front page news for tomorrow's newspapers throughout the world.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting the football games to contain mention of them.

Perhaps I was more concerned about whether those on here would pay attention. Of course, maybe they've been so glued to the TVs watching about it that they haven't had a chance to comment on it here ;)

I guess everyone's too busy at the Katrina board to care much about Bali. ;)

I'm surprised this is the only thread about it, too, since it's been on the news quite a bit!

My father spent a few days in Bali about five years ago, as part of a three week tour he took of Southeast Asia. He said Bali was the most peaceful place he'd ever been, with the nicest human beings he'd ever encountered. With two bombings in the past three years or so, I'm not sure Bali will ever be the same.

It's such a tragedy, and for what?
