Terracotta Army in Epcot 'Real'?

We just received our AAA magazine that features an article on the Terracotta Army and its discovery in China. In it, the author makes no mention of the display in China in Epcot and states that some of the artifacts will shortly be on display in the U.S. I always thought that the figures in Epcot were part of what was dug up in China, but now I'm wondering if they're the real deal or as phony as the dinosaur bones in AK. Anybody know for sure?

The ones in Epcot are smaller. While we're on this subject. Anyone know how long they will be there. We saw them last December and it was very cool. We'll be there in January and would love to see them again.

They've been there several years now. The statue at the entrance is full sized, but, the rest are indeed replicas.

They did have some of the originals in Atlanta last spring, but, they're gone now.

Very nice exibit all the same.

They will be on display in Washington DC for a few months starting next month. Don't know the exact dates. Saw an article on National Geographic. I want to take my kids to see them.

They just left the Houston Museum of Natural Science a week or two ago. We were there in September. Very interesting. Worked out well because we were studying them in History and then were able to go actually see them in person.

You know after all the times I have gone to WDW I have never seen this exhibit. Where exactly is it located at in the Pavillion. How do you get there? I have a hard time finding it I guess is why I haven't seen this exhibit.

It's inside the large main building in the China pavillion, I don't recall it being out of the way in there, it's a large room, impossible to miss.

Yes -- if you enter the huge, round 'temple' building that is the focal point of the China pavillion (and where you enter to watch the movie), the entrance to the terra cotta warriors exhibit is on your left. If you haven't stopped to watch the movie before, BTW, it is definitely worthwhile!

I took my children and my mom (she has been to the actual dig site of the Warriors) to the display in Atlanta. Definately worth going!! Absolutely breathtaking and amazing to see what these workers accomplished!!

We're trying to talk our local parks and recreation trips department to run a bus trip down to see them. If not, we're going to go and spend the weekend in DC. The ones in Disney are exact replicas of the originals. We saw that exhibit a couple of years ago and it, in our opinion, was very interesting. Take note of the individual faces!

Yes, when the exhibit was in Atlanta it was really cool. They wouldn't let me take any pictures, I was so bummed. The one at the World China- I took a gazillion pics even though they weren't real. At least I could fit in quite a few soldiers in one pic!

I bought a small replica when the exhibit was in Atlanta. I don't remember if they had any at the World China. If they did, it would be a cool souvenir to take home.

Although they are replicas and indeed smaller they are interesting to look at. I saw some of the origionals at the British Museum last year which was amazing to see. The thing that struck me about the origionals was that on some of them you could still see some colour, I hadn't realised they had origionally had colour!

I don't know if you're a member of AAA or not but AAA sends out their magazine every month, and in this month's issue, in the back, is an ad to stay at a hotel in DC (I forget which one but we're looking into it) with room rates starting at $150 per night scared1 but you also get 2 free tickets to the exhibit. Just some nuggets to nosh on for those who, like us, are looking into going to DC for the exhibit.

And to the PP, yes, there's still some color on the warriors. I know what you mean about antiquities still having color. The Great Pyramid still has a bit of limestone at the top, and to think that ALL the pyramids were covered with limestone is amazing. The limestone was pilfered over the course of many centuries for building purposes. Can you just imagine what they'd look like in their original form??? Amazing...
