Terms that annoy you

I have come to hate the word "amazing". It has to be one of the most overused words on T.V. If you've ever watched even one episode of The Batchelor you've heard that word enough to last you a lifetime.

"Holla" is another word that makes me cringe.

"Amazing" was the first thing that came to my mind, too, along with "The Bachelor." EVERYTHING is apparently AMAZING on that show. And most things about (and people on) that show are NOT amazing.

BFF
Drama Queen
"The" wife
"The little woman"
OMG (actually saying, "OMG"!)
Hate - in reference to people
Preggo or preggers

There's a few others, but I can't post them here..;)

tiger woods and jessie james who cares.. they only people that care are them. threre wifes, kids and reporters...

K.

As in replying to a text or instant message (In lieu of an "Ok" or "Okay"). HOW IS THAT AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE!? :confused3

How hard could it possibly be to put an "O" in front of that?

One word replies to messages really aggravate me anyway, but the dreaded "K" is just the worst!! :crazy2:

I hate when bikers say "this is my old lady/old man" when they refer to their boyfriends/girlfriends. Yuck. That is so 70s. Its worse..its 60's!

The term "yummy" when used to desribe somehting other than food in the tummy.

Baby Daddy/Baby Momma - ghetto-fabulous terminology designed to scrape the paint of the walls.

Starting a sentence off with the word "dude" and ending it with the word "yo."
(ex. "dude, what's up?" or "I heard you broke up with your girl, yo.")

"You know what I'm sayin'" -- no I don't be quiet.

Please don't say 'tummy' either if you're older than 6. Shuddder. :scared:

interesting bit of trivia history. years ago when I was in the military, I was in communications. even though they taught us morse code, we really never used it. but had to learn the format and so forth.

When sending and receiving messages, the last thing you would send is the letter :k" all by itself. it meant "over" which gave the other party the go ahead to send his messge.

we did use a teletype system to send and receive messages and when talking back and forth, that system was carried over, and when you typed the single letter "K" at the end of transmission, you knew it was safe to transmit.

I think that ham radio operators still use that system.
