Is it possible to cross over from Terminal A to Terminal B at Orlando International without going through the security process again? Specifically from the United Airlines to the Continental Airlines gates?

Thanks for any help you can give!

You can get from one side of the terminal building to the other for ticketing, baggage and ground transportation, but not to the gates, without going through security.

The gates are located in pods that are separate from the terminal building, which contains both the A and B sides, and accessed by a tram systems that's after security. See the terminal maps at http://www.orlandoairports.net/ops/terminal.htm.

Yes! You can cross over between Airside 3 (United) and Airside 1 (Continental). They are both within the same secure area.

You would take the Airside 3 train (like a horizontal elevator) to the main terminal building. Once you exit from the train at the main terminal, make sure you don't exit from the secure area. Instead, walk to the Airside 1 train, which is very close at that point.

The reason this works is because there are two security checkpoints for the four Airsides (gate satellites) at the Orlando International. Airsides 1 and 3 share the same secure area. Airsides 2 and 4 share the other.

For more information, go to http://www.orlandoairports.net/faq.htm and expand the "Getting Around" tab. Then look for "Can I go to an Airside Terminal (Gate Area) that I'm not departing from (arriving at)?"

Hint: Dilly dally when the train doors open at the main terminal. A moment later the doors open on the other side and you go out that way. You are now on the center boarding platform and the other train is across the platform. (Added later: Scratch the preceding, the train you want is not quite that close.)

If you did get off on the normal side alighting platform you would go around the front of the train (enclosed in a glassed in box) to reach the boarding platform.

Better hint: please don't dilly-dally exiting the tram; please exit from the doors that open first only. When the doors on the opposite side of the tram open, people will be boarding the tram through those doors.

I think this won't work, both trams on the platform go to the same area. At least they do to the AirTran gates. You could also just walk out of the correct side and then do a U turn at the end to get back to the middle platform.
