I'm trying to plan our first night's meal. :) Thought we would go over to Epcot for a while that night. We already have a few buffets planned so I wanted a table service. Which of these restaurants would you choose? Looking for good food and good atmosphere. We have 2 dds (5 and 2). Thanks so much!!

Hard to answer this one...it really depends on if you want Italian food, or Japanese teppan-style food.

Agreed. But since you asked, I'd choose Teppanyaki.

You'll find the chef cooking at your table to be much more entertaining for the children at Teppanyaki. Food's pretty good too!

My wife and I ate a Alfredos in August and the food was great, however the tables were very close together. We didn't like feeling so packed in. There are tables available outside that seem to have a little more breathing room.

This is true. The meal we had at Alfredos was wonderful, but the table was tiny. We had the antipasto platter (Italian cheeses, olives and meats), Lasagne and Fettucini Alfredo. All delicious. We also had cannoli which was great. Its hard to find good cannoli.

At Teppenyakis I had the chicken meal and my husband had either the steak and shrimp or the chicken and shrimp. They served us this weird, but good, salad before our meal. It had like seaweed and sprouts or something. It was good....the dressing on it had great flavor.

For two reasons I would choose Alfredos over Teppenyaki.
1. - I love Italian food. I am picky, especially when it comes to Italian food. This is good stuff or atleast it was when we ate there.
2.- I dont particurally enjoy eating with people I dont know. Lets face it, unless your party consists of enough people to fill the table, there is a good shot you will be dining with people you dont know. If this doesnt bother you, no big deal.

Whatever your choice, they are both good places. With anything, everything has its ups and downs. It might help to look at their menus online and see which one better suits your families taste.

DBF and I went to Teppanyaki in January and loved it... it was his favorite of tghe trip, and my either 2nd or 3rd (tied w/ Les Chefs behind Le Cellier). As a bonus, if you make your ADR for 7 or 730 you can go out on the patio afterward and see illuminations from there- a great ending to your first night. have a great time. -Meg

We have eaten in both places several times, and Teppanyaki is still out favorite. It's also definately more entertaining for the kids.

Definitely Teppanyaki! Fun and yummy!

We ate at Alfredo's....yuuuuck. Very disappointed.

Another vote for Teppanyaki - we were unimpressed with the quality of the food at Alfredos (except for dessert - it was great) and the tables are close together. The down side to Teppanyaki is that you are seated with people you don't know - but that can be fun too. The food is good and the chef can be entertaining. My kids loved it.
