When did the Teppanyaki stop serving salad with meals? I was all geared up for it with the yummy ginger dressing and was served a few strands of seaweed instead. I ate mine, and it was ok. DH didn't eat his just because it was seaweed, so I did. Everything else was just the way it had always been - wonderful.

I think when management changed there, the salad became an a la carte menu item. This was about 2 years or so ago.

Perhaps I should have read the menu instead of ordering my favorite meal without looking at it first!

LOL you must have ate it all cause all I got was seaweed! We did have the last seating of the night. Maybe they just ran out?

We ate lunch there and salad was optional. It was a typical tossed salad with ginger dressing.

We've never had lunch there only dinner and it was always included. It's not big deal really because the seaweed was very filling :rotfl: I will be happy if I can order it extra next time. I was hoping they hadn't removed it from the menu.

Now that I think about it, the salad was optional at our lunch too....but they specifically asked everyone if they wanted a salad or not.

We had lunch there last month and a regular salad was not included, but they did ask if anyone wanted a salad with their meal.

The seaweed was gross! :earseek: DH ate his so I thought it would be fine. It took HOURS to get that gross oily fish taste out of my mouth! :earseek:

Here's what it looks like:

So if you are on the dining plan do you get the salad with your meal? I was thinking that this was going to be like Shogun where you order your meal and it comes with soup, salad, appetizer, and entree :confused3 We are eating at Teppanyaki on our first nite in Disney  Is the lobster good? I usually get steak and shrimp but looking at the menu the lobster, shrimp and scallops sound yummy :teeth:

It is my expectation when we dine here in October, that the salad will be considered an appetizer and available that way. If you do not choose it as your appetizer, it would be extra.
Does anyone know if I am correct?

Having seen the picture, I'm excited! That's a traditional seaweed salad and I love it-I eat Japanese all the time, especially sushi. But that is an acquired taste-my cousin lived in Japan for 6 years, and will eat almost anything, but not a vinegar salad! :teeth:

We ate lunch here this month and the salad was offered for 1.00 extra with our entrees. No one ate the seaweed!

We ate there August 10 and used the dining plan. I did get the salad as my appetizer and didn't pay anything extra. They also brought the seaweed salad which I enjoyed. I got the steak and chicken which were really good. I had the chestnut cake for my dessert and it was just okay. DD (8) loved it so much that she ate all her chicken and DS's (2) also since he was too busy playing with the chopsticks to eat pirate:

OMG!!!! That is the reason we are going back to eat there after 9 years!!!! WE LOVED that salad with the dressing. I have tried to make it with recipes that I have but I like theirs much better!!!!!! :wave2:

I've tried to make it too but still not as good as Teppenyaki. Perhaps some one knows the recipe?

I would like to know this as well.
Will the sushi sampler count as an appetizer and can you order the shrimp and lobster on the dining plan?

Thanks in advance.

When we were there on July 24, the other family at our table was on the dining plan. 2 of them had the sushi combo and 2 had the california roll as their appetizers, then they had steak and lobster and took all of their desserts to go. Not that I was nibbing in their business :rolleyes1
