Anyone have any experience with Teppan Edo with kids (ages 6 and 8).

I wonder if they will get scared or not with the smoke, flying knives, all the flash.

At our table we had had family with six year old girl and 7 year old boy. They had agreat time and enjoyed with everyone else so I do not see a problem.:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibesDanny

and they are the biggest scaredy cats! They were so tired they just hung in there and waited to eat. My older ds is no fan of that type of food so I packed him a PB and J which they were fine with. Enjoy!

My 6 & 8 year old LOVE Teppan Edo - we go every year. There is a plain chicken meal that even the pickiest eater will like. We got that the first year and they don't cook it on the table - my kids were very sad they didn't get to see them cook their food - so now they order chicken cooked at the table! My kids are pretty picky eaters and they love it!

When we went in 2008, my sons were just 3 and 4 1/2. My 3 year-old slept through most of dinner, but my 4 1/2 year old loved it. He ordered the chicken terriaki, which came with broccoli-mix veggies, I think. The kids meals are served in a really cute Bullet-train dish. If your kids ever watch Choo-Choo soul they'll know about the Bullet-train. He was not afraid of the noise or knives. We were a bit nervous about the hot grill, but it was fine.

My boys were 8 and 5 on our last trip, they've been to T.E. twice, and they both love it! It was one thing they asked to do the second time.

We went there the first time when our girls were about the same ages ( or even a year younger) and they loved it! It is now our standard "first night at Disney" dinner. They love that it isn't just sitting waiting for food to get there. The chefs are very entertaining. There is one that always slaps his knee when he gets a step done and is SO funny! He engages the kids and my girls love him. We even waited a little longer last year to have him for our chef. I think your kids will like it unless they are really scared of fire for some reason.

We went in sept. my boys were 7 and 9 and we had a blast. This is a very fun restaurant and we had the best chef. He did tricks like the others, but he also told jokes did funny poses and played tic tac toe with my son with the vegs on the grill. I wouldn't worry about them being scared as they do everything in a cool, but child friendly way.

We've done this with our grandson numerous times since he was probably 3YO. No problems at all - in fact he was very entertained by the antics.

my 3 kids love the japanese restaurants. They are so much fun. No one has ever gotten scared and we have been going for years, not in Disney but places around where we live.

My kids loved it as well. My youngest was 4 on our last trip. She ordered the kids shrimp plate and just loved it. The chefs are wonderful and very entertaining. My older kids still quote some of the funny things that he said.
