We booked Teppan Edo for dinner in Jan. It currently isn't on the dining plan (keep your fingers crossed that it soon signs up for 2009!). My question is this. Is this a restaurant worth paying OOP for? I have two boys 9 and 11 and thought it would be a fun and unique dinner experience - please share your thoughts.

We love this restaurant. Are kids are DS7 and DD12. The kids always ask to go. I will be very upset if it is not on the dining plan. My friend and I are going in Jan.(not on DDP) and paying out of pocket but I'm not sure if I'd book it if I was on the dinning plan and pay out of pocket. Is it a final list for 2009 restuarants? I hope it changes.

Love Teppen Edo. Definatley worth out of pocket. But not sure why it isn't on the plan it alway was before.

When I booked my ADR the woman helping me said to check back later as it may still be added. I read elsewhere that they signed in December of last year before being added to the DDP list of restaurants. So...I hope they still do add it. I just wanted other people's opinions about the restaurant to help me make my decision in case they don't decide to be on the DDP list.

This has been a must do for us every time we go. You will love this place. It's good food & good fun.:worship:

I just looked on both allears.net and wdwinfo.com and they both have Teppan Edo as in the dining plan. Is it not going to be for 2009.

I also have this booked as an ADR for our March trip. If it isn't part of the DDP I will cancel our reservation.:sad1:

I am going to call disney tomorrow because I have a reservation for december and I am on the dining plan. I will let you guys know.

We wouldnt because we have better Hibachi restaurants locally that have lower prices and alot more food.....but if you do not have this type of place where you live I would do it because the food is great and the show is alot of fun

I made my RSVPs last week and put Teppan Edo on it and noone mentioned it not being on the dining plan. I am now curious also.

I was told Planet Hollywood wasn't on there yet but put in a RSVP and to call back in a couple of weeks to see if they have been added or if I want to change locations.

Teppanyaki dining is one of my least favorites. I don't like sitting around a large table with people I don't know while a cook makes a lot of flashy noise unnecessarily banging the knives.
That said, I enjoyed my meal here. The cook was entertaining and funny. And this is the first teppanyaki style restaurant I've reviewed that has women chefs. It's a job usually performed by men.
(All the sushi chefs in the other room were women, too. Hooray for diversification in Japan!)

Even though we really like Teppan Edo, we haven't booked it in a while because we have an awesome hibachi place 5 minutes from our house - and it blows Teppan Edo out of the water sadly. Plus we also have about 5 other hibachi places all within 15 minutes, so it's not really a "unique" experience for us anymore.

But if you've never been, definitely go! Especially with kids, they'll get a kick out of it.
