Is the food relativly the same. also I am not sure of the interaction you get at teppan edo as I am quite quiet their will be 3 of us. Would they sit us with other people thanks for any help and info :)

Teppan Edo is a Japanese Steakhouse similar to Benihana & Kobe. You are seated around a teppan grill where your meal is prepared in front of you. There are typically 8-9 seats around the grill so yes, you will be seated with other people.

Food is very good. Sushi is available as appy but entrees are steak/chicken/shrimp, etc. Interaction is good but will vary depending on the mood of your particular chef.

The Tokyo Dining menu is centered around sushi & tempura. You will be seated at individual tables that are appropriate for your party size.

HTH!

I had to chose between these two when planning our dinner for our day at Epcot too. I checked the menus and the reviews and went with Tokyo Dining.

You will love Tokyo Dining. We tried it a few years ago when it was new and we needed to change an ADR, now we go there every trip.

The service is great, the atmosphere is definitely more quiet than Teppan-Edo, and they have grilled steak, salmon, or chicken for those in your family that are not fans of sushi or tempura.

To be fair I've never tried Teppan Edo but...

I love  Tokyo Dining and have to go every trip. My favorite meal is the grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce and chocolate ginger cake for dessert. The service actually resembles service at a signature restaurant. At Tokyo Dining they will bring out a warm moist towel for you to wipe your hands with, which is what they do at Jiko as well. All the servers have been so attentive and nice. I highly reccomend Tokyo Dining and it is just regular seating at a table with just your party.

If you look at the menus, you'll see that there is a small amount of overlap, but for the most part, go to Teppan Edo for the "Japanese steakhouse" experience, and go to Tokyo Dining for everything else. We love Tokyo Dining, which has perfectly respectable sushi, but Teppan Edo is our favorite restaurant in all of Disney World.

What I am unsure of is whether the "Japanese-style grill items" on the Tokyo Dining menu are actually the same as the Teppan Edo items (except that they are not grilled at the table).

I've never tried Tokyo Dining but we LOVE Teppan Edo! So good and it's also a unique experience. I'm sure the sushi is great at Tokyo Dining, too, though. Enjoy!

OMG!!! That is my favorite meal too ;) We love Tokyo Dining, in fact my girls insisted that we eat there in March :goodvibes

We ate at both last year. Teppan Edo was very very good, in fact it is better then the hibachi's around here.

But I wasn't that impressed with Tokyo Dining *cry*. The first time we went to Disney the sushi was amazing, but this time it just wasn't that good (I get better here at home).
