Hi was just wondering if anyone has eaten at Teppan Edo Recently and if there is a larger Menu than what is listed on here ? I was also wondering if there was any American dishes on the kids menu ? I would love to eat here but I think my kids wouldn't care much for what they have listed on the kids menu on here . Would love some feedback :)

Thanks

I remember the offerings being as posted on the Dis. I do not remember any American offerings... but I could be wrong as we love the food there so would not be looking for that. I also checked allears as well and they seem to have the same offerings.. Maybe if they are not going to eat that kind of food, you might want to pick another restaurant. It is very good though..

Thanks for information , we are a family of five and would all be ok with the food . Besides the fact that my daughter has food allergies and I'm afraid there would be a language barrier and it would be hard to convey to the chef that she would have to have something made to accommodate her which would probably be American .

Thanks Again

I found that everyone at Teppan Edo was very fluent in English, and if they were unsure what you were saying, they would get someone to translate. If your child is allergic to peanuts... do NOT eat here, as most japenese places cook with peanut oil. Even if they cooked hers in another oil, I would be wary about it.

I am a SUPER picky eater, but I just ordered chicken, and it comes with noodles and vegetables- all pretty doable for me, even though I'm picky. It just looks a little different because it's cooked with different seasonings.

Thanks for the reassurance on the English , that helps me alot . My daughter has a peanut allergy and that's why I was wondering if they had American . I 'm sure though if we book it they would accommodate her , since I have heard that Disney does a very good job doing so . With the peanut oil , it would have to be a hundred percent peanut oil which we were informed by our allergist is not used very often at all because it cost $20.00 or more dollars just for a small container . Thanks again for all your help , I think I may call Disney and chat with them about it and book it if they say that they can make her special things .

We also have food allergies in my family. I've contacted the Special Diets department and got lots of info. I was debating Teppan Edo too. One of the documents they sent me was "OP Allergy Menus for Epcot". In the Teppan Edo section it states that: "Food items will be steamed in allergy areaof grill". Now I have to decide if that's in my comfort zone....

Thanks so much for all the allergy information , I didn't know that was all available to someone with allergies . I did make a Reservation for Teppan Edo but just cancelled it due to I wasn't comfortable with the time they had available for the date I wanted . We are lucky with our Daughters food allergies , she just can't have the actually nuts themselves. It doesn't bother her to have something that was made around nuts. She's also allergic to eggs but just by themselves liked scramble etc. She's 3 this year and on the Disney dinning plan and I had them make note just in case but I hope they don't limit too much because her limitations aren't to severe as some others . Good luck with your dilemma , I know I have trouble with my comfort zone as well when it comes to her allergies :)

We have a wheat and gluten allergy and I was wondering if they could make food for us here . Do they have the wheat free soy sauce on hand ?

Not sure exactly what your kids will eat, but they have 2 different types of choices at Teppan Edo. 1 is the food from the grill which is basically a smaller portion of the adult meals (which comes with rice, noodles and veggies.) The other type of meal includes chicken (terriaki or tempura nuggets) and then sides like mashed potatoes, veggies and a packaged Dole type fruit cup. This version really isn't much different than a typical meal at home would be. If you're looking for more fast food type things such as pizza/ burgers etc... then I'm not sure if your kids would like it.

I have eaten there several times. I am allergic to mushrooms. Nothing major happens. I can have it mixed with stuff and no major side affects. The veggies they cook have musrooms in it. I told the chef I didn't want the mushrooms due to my allergy. Let me tell you, they take allergies VERY seriosuly. They wanted to cook the entire meal over again for me. I had to reassure the chef, our waitress and the manager that everything was ok.

1) If there is a peanut allergy, the food MUST be prepared in the kitchen.
2) It cannot be made on the hibachi.
3) There is no way to prevent cross-contamination.

The email from the special diets people lists the products that they stock for people with special diets. They list San-J brand Wheat Free Temari Soy Sauce (the same one we used before we outgrew our wheat allergy) I would THINK Teppan Edo would stock it, but I'd call to find out!
