Trying to decide on an Epcot lunch for us and our soon to be 4 year old. I've seen mixed reviews on both places and the LC menu looks more interesting to me, but TE looks more interesting to DH.

Which would you choose?

Both have good food.... It depends on what do you want to eat? Teppan Edo was entertaining (food was good also). Chef had excellent french onion soup! :goodvibes

DS 7 actually requested we go back to Teppan Edo this coming trip so he must have liked it alot. :rotfl: But then again, he liked seeing Remy also. :rotfl:

From my personal experience we enjoyed TE more than we did Le Chefs. It was more of an experience and very entertaining, but I think that's the point. The food at Le Chefs wasn't bad, but we just had more fun at TE.

Both are good places so you won't go wrong no matter which you chose. I'd go with TE if you've never been to a hibachi style restaurant before just for the unique experience.

We like TE, even with small children. They are usually entertained by watching the Japanese chef prepare the food. Be aware that other families will be seated at the same table with you. Sometimes this is fun, and sometimes it's awkward.

We enjoy both, but my dd 7 liked Les Chefs better. I think because the mushrooms on the grill at TE turned her off the food. She didn't eat anything there. She also really got a kick out of seeing Remy.

I say Tepan Edo. I used to be a fan of Les Chefs but the last few visits my food wasn't worth a hoot. I ordered the pan roasted flounder and it tasted like scrambled eggs and the french fries tasted like McDonalds. The fries weren't bad but you'd think they'd have better quality fries being a gourmet restaurant.

We have never eaten at LC, but we do TE every time we go to Disney and my kids have always loved it and always put it on their list of must-dos!

We really enjoyed TE, but we've decided not to go back. It's just too similar to several the hibachi grill places nearby for us to justify going while at Disney World. We'd rather experience something we can't find at home.

Just returned from a trip where we ate at TE with children, 11, 8 and 4. They all loved it. Besides entertaining, I think that for each this was one of the most enjoyable meals...even for the 4 year old.

We have eaten at Les Chefs at least 3 times and for the past two times have been totally turned off by the rude and slow service.

The chefs at TE were exceptionally pleasant and courteous!

Tough choice, we very much enjoyed both.

Teppan Edo is quite good and a bit more authentic than your average strip mall Japanese steakhouse but not all that spectacular if you're used to that style of dining. It remains one of our favorites precisely because hibachi restaurants are a vacations-only experience, as there are none near by. The food is simple but well prepared, the service is ridiculously attentive, and my kids absolutely love the show.

Chefs is the stronger of the two on food alone in my opinion. I'm not especially fond of French food but was very pleasantly surprised by our meal there. The French onion soup is incredible and the croque monseiur (sp?) was very nice. And the desserts were excellent; we had the apple crepe and the profiteroles and both were delicious. The service was a little on the slow side, but seeing Remy was kind of cool.

For overall experience I'd go with Teppan Edo unless you have a good hibachi restaurant at home, in which case the experience wouldn't be as novel and the food/pricing might disappoint (no soup & salad included like at "real world" hibachi, no (unauthentic) fried rice, and of course the Disney property price premium). But I don't think you can go wrong either way.

We usually do Teppen Edo for dinner and Chef's de France for lunch. We love Chef's toasted cheese at lunch and Remy is really cute.
