Teppan Edo - How do you order?

Hey Guys!

I realize this sounds like a stupid question, but I was wondering how you order when dinning at Teppan Edo In Japan. I notice there are different meats choices on the menu ... so does everyone at the table get all the same thing? I was watching some videos on YouTube and it seemed as though everyone got the steak, chicken and shrimp. At least that is what was being cooked. I'm just a little confused I guess. haha Thanks.

At any Hibachi Grill...you order off the menu, each person orders what they would like and then everything is cooked right in front of you on the grill!!

We're here at Epcot and had Teppan Edo for dinner tonight and it was very good. My DD and I had chicken and my husband had the combination steak n shrimp. All of our meals came with noodles, vegetables bs steamed rice. The other family that dined at our table had the swordfish. Everyone has their choice and it was great. We'll be back again.

I always order the chicken. On the video you watched, it appears everyone at the table ordered the combo. That doesn't happen often.

We just ordered here a few weeks ago, and we are quite picky. The other family at our table didn't seem to be as picky, but there were no problems.
We all placed our order at the beginning (I wanted the fillet, medium well), and if we didn't want onions or mushrooms (zucchini is the only other veggie) and they cook each one to order (and adds the noddles). Each one gets their meal as it is done, so some might be eating earlier than others, but it wasn't a big deal.
The show by our chef was really fun. Lots of funny antics and the food was really good.
Just one suggestion though, if you don't like sesame seeds, make sure to let them know. They put it on all the food when finished.

I have never been to this style restaurant before, therefore I wasn't sure what to expect. I really appreciate your help. It will be my Mom and I going for lunch. I had ressies for Via Napoli but then thought we would like this better. We are so excited for our trip! =)

There are many teppanyaki style restaurants back home, but I really wanted to try teppanyaki "Disney" style! They did not disappoint! The food was good, and our chef was very entertaining! We never had a female chef before, and she was really funny! DH had the swordfish, DD10 had the steak/chicken combo, and I had the scallops. Everything was delicious!

How much is the portion size for adults vs. kids? I have DD12 and DD9. Not sure how to have them order. One adult meal to split would be a better price than two kids' meals, but I'm not sure if that would be a good amount of food vs. two kids' meals.

Are they pretty good about splitting?

1) Usually in English.
2) But, occasionally in Japanese.

We really enjoyed it and will go again. I had the steak and shrimp combo. Next time I'll just order the shrimp, it was a nice change from all the red meat eaten on our trips Though we liked the rolled beef appy

The portions were quite large. I couldn't finish even half of mine, and my kids all had quite a bit left. I don't even think my dh finished his!
Not sure about splitting though, as we each ordered our own.
