Booked Teppan Edo one night for dinner. The rice that is served says it is Sukiyaki Beef.
I don't eat beef. Does the rice have beef pieces in it and is it strongly flavored? Do they allow you to get white rice in its place?

Thanks everyone.

Teppan Edo does not have fried rice - neverhas. Fried rice is a chinese food.
The Beef rice is relatively new ( a year or so), but plain white rice is avaialble.

Still have noodles! There are pieces of beef in the rice. They are small shredded pieces and impossible to pick around.

the rice is beef flavored and is very good. Someone at r table had some allegries so they gave her steamed white rice. we just ate there june 8th

Thanks for the info about small bits of beef. Will definitely order white rice

1) The "new" rice has beef-juice and beef-bits added.
2) It is not fried rice (which is Chinese).
3) However, you can ask for normal white rice.
4) Just let the table "chef" know.
.
NOTE:
A little bit of TheRustyScupperTrivia . . .
The Teppanyaki style of cooking (on a grill plate) was invented in 1945.
Originally, it was a method of cooking Western-Style food, not Japanese food.
The Japanese did not take to it as much the tourists who went crazy for it.
I was rudely informed of this when at a Geisha House while on business.

Thanks. White rice it is for me.

We have a great teppanyaki place here. They "advertise" it as fried rice. I guess because they "fry" it on the grill when they add the vegetables, egg and soy sauce to it.
