A good family friend highly recommends Teppan Edo for our June trip. My BF is a very picky eater..not big on trying new things. Doesn't really eat seafood, redmeat, and sometimes not even chicken. Shes usually a chicken fingers or a chicken ceasar salad type of orderer. She does love Chinese food though! (yes I know Japanese and Chinese are not the same)

Id love to try Teppan Edo, but Im not sure there will be much that she likes. Have you been there with a picky eater? What did they eat?

The food there is really simple - grilled meat (steak, shrimp, chicken, or scallops depending on what your order) with mushrooms, onion, zucchini, and probably some veggies I'm not remembering. Because of the way the food is cooked, it is easy for the chef to leave off something that one party member doesn't care for (DD got her food without mushrooms). Plain white rice is served on the side, as are a trio of sauces. A person would have to be really, really picky not to find something they could enjoy there.

Is it just the two of you going on the trip? Do you think she'd be willing to be a little bit flexible so that you could have some meals you'd really enjoy? I do think Teppan Edo is a wonderful restaurant with great food and an enjoyable experience, and it's true that since everything is cooked to order right in front of you that it can be as simple and straightforward as someone desires. I just, kindly, think that you shouldn't have to plan every meal around chicken fingers and caesar salads....

I ate there, I'd say I'm pretty picky, but loved the food anyways.
